Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommends that when participating in traffic during storms, people should proactively check their vehicles before going, reduce speed, keep a safe distance, and turn on their headlights to increase visibility. Absolutely do not go into areas with deep flooding, fast-flowing water, roads overflowing over streams, through tunnels, or roads at risk of landslides. Drivers must comply with the instructions and regulations of the authorities and not intentionally move when conditions are not safe to prevent unfortunate accidents.
On September 30, it was noted that on many routes, traffic police were present at key intersections, promptly directing and regulating traffic, ensuring people's travel activities.
Traffic Police Team No. 6 focuses on traffic flow and regulation at the key Mai Dich - Ring Road 3 intersection which is flooded.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dang Hong Giang, Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 3: "The unit has proactively developed plans, arranged forces on key routes, and closely coordinated with the local police to direct traffic, guide, and promptly handle arising situations."
During storms, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department requires its subordinate units to closely monitor weather developments, proactively guide, direct traffic, and post warning signs to ensure traffic safety.
At the same time, strictly control people and vehicles through culverts, spillways, deeply flooded areas, areas with strong currents, landslides or areas at risk of landslides, and resolutely not allow people and vehicles to circulate when safety is not guaranteed.
Even though it is the peak of the storm, Hanoi traffic is basically kept stable.
On waterways, traffic police actively monitor water levels, advise and propose banning ferry terminals and ferry terminals when they are unsafe, restrict people from participating in waterway traffic during storms, and are ready to apply strong measures to avoid damage to people and property.
