
Having worked for many years at JFE Shoji Steel Company Limited Hai Phong (VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park), Mr. Dang Van Hiep is not only known for his technical initiatives that bring great value to the business but also as an enthusiastic and dedicated Union Chairman to his employees. In him, the spirit of creative work and responsibility for the collective always go hand in hand.
In 2024, the initiative "Developing a wireless connection method between HT handheld workstations and PCs via wifi, based on the Remote control feature (Windows) and Keyence's Remote Controller software" proposed by Mr. Dang Van Hiep was awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor . Mr. Hiep said that previously, the connection between HT machines and PCs had to be done through a physical dock, which was only compatible with Windows 7, an old operating system with many potential security risks. This caused the process of retrieving data and installing software to be frequently interrupted, wasting time and affecting production progress.
From that reality, Mr. Hiep researched and proposed a solution to connect via internal wifi network, utilizing Windows Remote Desktop combined with Keyence software. This solution helps save an average of 2.5 production hours per month on 7 production lines, without interruption, and stable data transmission and reception. After 1 year of application, the solution helped the business save 1.2 billion VND.
Sharing about his creative motivation, Mr. Hiep said that, stemming from common errors when connecting data, he always wondered how to thoroughly overcome them, making work more convenient as well as making practical contributions to the business. Along with the above initiative, every year, Mr. Hiep has ideas to contribute to solving problems at work, contributing to improving labor productivity and the working environment at the company.
In addition to his role as Head of Planning Department, since 2013, Mr. Hiep has participated in trade union activities and is currently the Chairman of the Trade Union of JFE Shoji Steel Company Limited Hai Phong. He confided: "Taking on both professional work and participating in trade union activities has caused me certain difficulties. However, I always try to arrange work scientifically , divide clearly and especially promote the collective role of the Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union. Thanks to that, trade union activities are resolved promptly and effectively."
Mr. Hiep and the company's Union Executive Committee carried out many practical activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of workers, such as giving Tet gifts to union members at the rate of 1 million VND/person; proposing that the company's leaders support union members to overcome the consequences of typhoon Yagi at the rate of 3 million VND/person. The company's Union also organized a dialogue conference with employees and successfully negotiated a number of new benefits for employees, such as: increasing the meal allowance from 30,000 VND to 36,000 VND/meal; increasing the monthly special meal allowance from 50,000 VND to 70,000 VND/meal; increasing the bonus for employees with 5 years of service from 5 million VND to 7 million VND/person... The company's Union also coordinated to organize many charity activities to give gifts to victims of Agent Orange and disadvantaged children, contributing to spreading the spirit of humanity.

Mr. Tran Van Truong, an employee of the Technical Department, said that Mr. Hiep is always close to and listens to his fellow workers. He accepts all legitimate suggestions on improving working conditions or welfare regimes and proposes them to the company's leaders to protect the rights of union members and workers.
Under the leadership of Mr. Hiep, the creative labor movement among union members and employees at the enterprise has spread more and more widely. In 2024 alone, the company had 80 innovative ideas related to safety, quality, productivity and welfare, of which 3 typical initiatives were awarded the Creative Labor Certificate. According to Mr. Hiep, each idea is nurtured from practice and collective contributions. The company's union always encourages, motivates and proposes many policies for each union member to explore and innovate, whether big or small, as long as it brings benefits to the workers and the enterprise.
With those contributions, Mr. Hiep has been evaluated by the company for many years as having excellently completed his professional tasks and has been classified as an excellent union member. The Company's Union was awarded a certificate of merit by the superior union for its achievements in union work in 2024.
