Helping students overcome difficulties and study well

Trade Unions at all levels in Tay Ninh province not only take care of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers, but also care for students who are children of union members and laborers, and are given more motivation to conquer their dreams through the work of encouraging learning and talent. In recent years, trade unions at all levels in the province have paid attention to the work of encouraging learning and talent for children of union members and employees to help union members and employees have the conditions to take care of their children going to school as well as creating motivation for them to continue to strive to study, becoming good citizens in the future with many contributions to their homeland and country.

Accordingly, the Provincial Labor Federation (LD) has implemented activities to care for students who are children of union members and employees such as the program "The Union sends love - Going to school with you" to give tablets to students; giving "Vietnam Union Savings Books" to children under 16 years old who are children of union members whose father or mother or both parents have passed away due to Covid-19; coordinating to give lifebuoys to students in the river areas of the province;...

Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation - Nguyen Hoai Thanh awarded the students

According to Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation - Pham Thi Quyen, from 2022 up to now, every year, from the Golden Heart Fund, the Provincial Labor Federation organizes to commend, reward and award scholarships to children of employees and workers in especially difficult circumstances, high school students who won prizes in national and provincial cultural competitions. Thereby, the Union hopes to give more strength to students to strive, overcome all difficulties, and at the same time entrust the trust and love of the Union organization to the young generation.

It is known that from 2022 to present, the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor (old) has organized a conference to commend and reward 303 students who are children of Party members and laborers who won prizes at provincial and national competitions for excellent high school students in cultural subjects and awarded scholarships to 430 students who are children of Party members and laborers who overcame difficulties and studied well with a total amount of 914 million VND.

In 2025, the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor (old) honored 103 students who are children of workers and employees who won prizes at the provincial and national high school cultural subject competitions, and awarded scholarships to 151 students who overcame difficulties and studied well with a total cost of 335 million VND.

Specifically, excellent students who won second prize at the National High School Excellent Student Competition were awarded 7 million VND, third prize was awarded 5 million VND and consolation prize was awarded 3 million VND. Excellent students who won first prize at the Provincial High School Excellent Student Competition were awarded 3 million VND, second prize was 2 million VND and third prize was awarded 1 million VND. The scholarship for children of university students who overcame difficulties and studied well is 1 million VND/student.

Ms. Pham Thi Quyen said: “The number of students participating in the 2025 conference to commend, reward and award scholarships doubled compared to the first time it was held, demonstrating the effectiveness and strong influence of the activities to care for the study and talent promotion for students who are children of soldiers and laborers. More specifically, in the provincial and national high school competitions for excellent students, there are more and more students who are children of soldiers and laborers who directly produce.”

The awards and scholarships from the Trade Union organization are not only material support but also spiritual encouragement, helping students overcome difficulties, conquer their dreams, and thereby become useful citizens, contributing to building their homeland and country.

Being accompanied and given wings to their dreams, many students strive to study, affirm their abilities through academic achievements at school and in competitions, and at the same time help them conquer their goals and dreams.

Born into a poor family, his mother was a worker and his father was a security guard, but Nguyen Hoang Minh Tam, a student at Tran Van Giau High School for the Gifted (Long An Ward), still feels lucky because his family always cares for him, creates favorable conditions for him to study and pursue his dream, and the College also accompanies and supports him on that journey. Tam is one of two students in the province who won the second prize for national excellent students in the National High School Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

Since childhood, Tam has had a hobby of observing and being curious about the phenomena that happen around life. From questions like why leaves are green to more practical things like asking what this is made of,... All of these things, slowly and quietly, have fueled his passion for science to grow.

Tam said: “By the time I was in 8th grade, when I studied Chemistry, I realized that this was an interesting subject, not boring, and it was also the “key” to opening up a reasonable explanation for almost all natural phenomena that occur in reality. From then on, I began to “fall in love” with this subject. There were times when I skipped breakfast for 10 consecutive days to have money to buy chemicals for experiments.”

In the journey to conquer his passion, Tam had the companionship, help and inspiration from his teachers, thereby gaining more determination with his favorite subject of Chemistry. After many efforts, Tam was selected to join the Provincial National Excellent Student Team for 2 years. In the 2024-2024 school year, Tam excellently won the second prize in the National Excellent Student Team for Chemistry.

“That exam gave me a lot of experiences, from meeting people who were better than me not just a few times but hundreds of times, getting to know friends who were thousands of kilometers away,... That whole journey was a very valuable experience, helping me a lot in my future studies and research. To get that result, I always received support, companionship, and help from my family, teachers, and friends. Colleges at all levels also cared for and supported me a lot. I will always try my best to not disappoint that care” - Tam confided.

At the conference to commend, reward and award scholarships to children of Union members who have overcome difficulties and studied well in the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Xuan Anh, a student at Vinh Hung High School, also expressed his deep gratitude to the Union at all levels for always caring, sharing and encouraging students in their learning journey.

For Xuan Anh, these are not only meaningful scholarships but also valuable beliefs and companionship that help students have more determination to walk more firmly on their journey of learning, conquering knowledge and discovering themselves.

Last school year, Xuan Anh learned a lot from the steps on that journey, because according to her, as long as you don't give up and overcome difficulties, you will find yourself standing on the pinnacle of glory - where your efforts are rewarded. Therefore, at the beginning of each school year, Xuan Anh always raises her awareness of self-study.

“Even with dedicated teachers and support from friends, each student is still the one who decides their own learning outcomes. I often divide my goals into weekly goals, self-test my knowledge, take notes of weak points to review more thoroughly; take advantage of free time to read books, view extended documents, not only for exams but also to understand the lessons more deeply and for a longer time” - Xuan Anh shared.

In addition, Xuan Anh also focuses on reasonable time management, focuses on studying and tries to apply the knowledge learned into practice as well as regularly reviews the knowledge. Thanks to that, Xuan Anh has achieved many achievements in studying, notably winning the third prize in Literature in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year.
