On January 3, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Krai commune (Ia Grai district, Gia Lai ) said that 4 seriously injured students of Pham Hong Thai Secondary School are still being treated at hospitals.

Previously, on January 1, V.D.P (born 2010) made firecrackers using materials he had ordered online. Afterwards, P invited his friends NTD, TQT, and NMT (all born 2013) to come watch. At around 5:30 p.m. the same day, the materials for making the firecrackers suddenly exploded.

Hearing the loud explosion, people nearby ran out to see and discovered all four male students had broken shin bones, peeled skin on their backs, and many other injuries to their arms and legs.

Immediately afterwards, relatives took the four male students to Gia Lai Provincial Children's Hospital and Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital for emergency treatment.

After the incident, the People's Committee of Ia Krai commune and Pham Hong Thai Secondary School visited and encouraged the children and their families.
