In 2024, the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection actively advised the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on the production plan for crops in the year to ensure acreage; put new varieties with high yield and quality into production to contribute to meeting the demand for food.

The Department has also guided localities to change the crop structure in accordance with the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, minimizing the situation of abandoned agricultural land. Attending and speaking at the summary conference of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection held on January 9, Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Dai emphasized that in 2024, despite facing many difficulties, the growth of the capital's agricultural sector was still maintained at a fairly good level, which was highly appreciated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Hanoi People's Committee. In the overall achievements, there was a great contribution from the field of crop production and plant protection.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dai said that in the coming period, Hanoi will orient its agricultural development towards organic and circular agriculture. Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Dai also informed that in 2025, the City will allocate funds to assess the overall quality of agricultural land in Hanoi. On that basis, a map will be built to have an orientation for effective use of agricultural land funds to exploit the most effective value from land.

At the conference, the collective of the Hanoi Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection and Ms. Luu Thi Hang (Head of the Department) were honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 21 individuals with achievements in 2024.
