Only iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have major design changes?

According to information shared by Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young with MacRumors earlier this week, Apple plans to increase the screen size to a larger 6.3 and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max in 2024. Young did not say at the time whether the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus would have larger screens.

But recently, on May 12, Ross Young confirmed to MacRumors that these 6.3 and 6.9-inch screens will be exclusive to the iPhone Pro models, while the more affordable iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will not have the larger screens.

So the standard iPhone 16 models will still use the 6.1 and 6.7-inch screens that Apple has used for the past few years.

Young said the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes are rounded numbers, and he will reveal details to two decimal places at the Display Week conference in Los Angeles on May 23.

With a screen design measuring approximately 6.9 inches, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the iPhone with the largest screen that Apple has introduced to date.

For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have screen sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches respectively. These are also the sizes that are expected to be applied to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max launched later this year.

The screen size adjustment suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may have major design changes or further reduction in screen bezel size, or both.
