Ha Giang – Tu San Gorge in the lower reaches of Nho Que River has the majestic beauty of vertical cliffs over 800m high, considered the deepest gorge in Southeast Asia.
Tu San Canyon with Nho Que River below and vertical cliffs over 800m high is considered one of the unique geological formations and the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia. In 2012, when Nho Que Hydropower Plant came into operation, it created a large lake area, making it easier to explore Tu San Canyon. From the hydropower reservoir, you can see the entire vertical cliff hundreds of meters high and the magnificence of the geological formation. Tu San Alley has a geological structure mainly of limestone in the Dong Van stone plateau complex formed millions of years ago. After the hydroelectric dam was closed, part of Tu San alley was submerged in water, but there are still traces of stone quarries and small caves that can be observed. On the mountain slopes, in the harsh conditions of nature, life goes on. Mr. Vu A Chinh (Son Vi commune, Meo Vac) said that life in this canyon is often self-sufficient because traveling is very difficult. In recent years, when many tourists come to experience, food and services are transported from the town. In recent years, tourism services on Nho Que river to see Tu San canyon have flourished. Tourism has also brought in revenue and improved the lives of people living at the foot of Tu San alley for generations. Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Nam Phuong - Director of Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative said that currently on Nho Que River there are 51 boats serving tourists to see Tu San Gorge. This is the livelihood of ethnic people in the communes in the area, thanks to the fleet of boats, people's lives are improved day by day with stable income.
