Vietnamese officers and soldiers on duty in Africa celebrated the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, treating international friends to traditional cuisine .
On December 22, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 (BVDC 2.6) of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) organized a series of activities to honor the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Army.
The entire staff of Field Hospital 2.6 has completed the renovation of the yard and decorated the unit's campus with flags, banners and details bearing the Vietnamese mark. The area has a new look, demonstrating the pride and responsibility of Vietnamese soldiers in a foreign land.
The meticulousness in each stage has made a strong impression on international friends and base commanders. They highly appreciate the unit's professional working spirit, creativity and dedication.
The ceremony took place in the afternoon, opening with a solemn flag-saluting ceremony. In particular, all officers and staff listened to a congratulatory letter from Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department. The letter not only conveyed pride but also encouraged the soldiers' spirit, encouraging them to continue promoting their role as ambassadors of peace and Vietnamese culture in the international arena.
International commanders and representatives of units stationed at the base also sent meaningful congratulations to Field Hospital 2.6. Unity-Sector Commander - Brigadier General William Ryarasa shared: "You not only represent a professional army but also the image of a peace-loving, resilient and responsible nation. We are extremely honored to share the joy on this anniversary."
After the celebration, BVD 2.6 held an intimate dinner party with the participation of international friends and other units in the base. Traditional dishes such as pho, fried spring rolls, banh chung and sweet soup were carefully prepared, bringing a culinary experience imbued with Vietnamese identity.
The party was not only an opportunity for exchange and connection, but also an opportunity to promote the image of the country, people and the Vietnamese Army. International friends expressed their love for Vietnamese cuisine and culture, and gave many compliments for the hospitality and enthusiasm of the Vietnamese blue beret soldiers.
Previously, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, Field Hospital 2.6 donated important medical supplies including masks, hand sanitizer, medical gloves and meaningful gifts for children being treated at Bentiu Hospital.
With a sense of responsibility, enthusiasm and humanity, the Vietnamese blue beret soldiers continue to do well in foreign affairs, affirming the role of military doctors in international missions. The image of Uncle Ho's soldiers is once again highlighted, contributing to building the image of a peaceful, responsible and humane Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.
Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 has 63 members and has been on a mission since September in South Sudan.
UNMISS was established in 2011 under Resolution 1996 of the United Nations Security Council with the mission of ensuring peace, building political stability and long-term economic development for South Sudan, as well as supporting the government of this country to limit conflicts and protect civilians.
General Secretary: Youth of the Army must take the lead in building a strong, compact, and elite Army.
The army reports to Uncle Ho, and together the country enters a new era.
