(Dan Tri) - Upon receiving a report that a patient needed urgent transfer, the border guards in Quang Binh used a canoe to enter the flooded area to take the patient out.
On October 31, Major Vo Doan Dung, Deputy Head of Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station, Quang Binh Border Guard Command, said that the unit's working group had just assisted in taking a patient in the "flood center" area of Le Thuy (Quang Binh) to the emergency room.
At around 8:30 p.m. on October 30, the border guards received news that a patient being treated at Le Thuy District General Hospital needed to be transferred to a higher level hospital immediately.
Although the flood receded, the road to Le Thuy District General Hospital was still flooded. Border guards quickly deployed canoes to approach the hospital to assist in transferring patients.

The patient, Mr. Do Trong Luc (born in 1943), residing in Xuan Giang village, Kien Giang town, Le Thuy district, was transported by border guards by canoe through deeply flooded areas.
When the water was shallower, the ambulance could not reach and the canoe could not move, so the border guards took turns carrying the patient across the flooded area to the ambulance to go to the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi.
Previously, the working group of Ngu Thuy Border Guard Station also used a canoe to transport 350 meals, 200 barrels of water, 300 barrels of instant noodles, 50 barrels of dry food, 80 barrels of milk, 100 pairs of banh chung, and 200 flashlights from organizations and individuals to give to patients being treated at Le Thuy District General Hospital and people in flood-affected areas.
