SSI Chairman Nguyen Duy Hung shares about the future of digital assets and Bitcoin

7 "big guys" participating in the digital asset field

After the Government issued Resolution 05/2025 on piloting the crypto asset market, a series of big names in the finance - securities - banking sector quickly joined the game, creating a vibrant picture for the new "playground".

Among these, Techcom Securities (TCBS) and SSI Securities stand out, the businesses that have prepared the digital technology platform early. Following that, VPBank Securities (VPBankS) and its parent bank VPBank also contributed capital to establish Vietnam Prosperity Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (CAEX).

HD Securities (HDS) has also attracted attention when it announced a plan to increase its capital to VND 10,000 billion, of which VND 1,470 billion will be used to contribute capital to establish the HD Crypto Asset Exchange. Another "big guy" is VIX Securities, with the establishment of VIX Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (VIXEX) with a charter capital of VND 1,000 billion.

Military Bank (MB) has chosen to join hands with Dunamu - the operator of the largest Upbit exchange in Korea - to prepare to launch a cryptocurrency exchange in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Hoa Binh Securities (HBS) also participated by contributing capital to VIMEXCHANGE, a company with charter capital of VND10,000 billion.

Notably, HVA Investment Joint Stock Company has just established DNEX in Da Nang, aiming to build a digital asset trading floor with a cooperation scale of 10,000 billion VND.

Young people pay much attention to digital assets

At the recent extraordinary shareholders' meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of SSI Securities Company, said that his view on digital assets has completely changed compared to 5 years ago. If he used to think that Bitcoin could be worth zero, it is different now.

He emphasized that digital assets are not simply "coins" or "virtual money", but are decentralized technology, where every transaction no longer requires a traditional ledger, but the blockchain itself is the common ledger for all.

According to him, in this day and age, we must understand and participate in what the younger generation is interested in. Young people may pay less attention to stocks, but they pay more attention to digital assets. "And in 5-10 years, they will become the new generation of entrepreneurs, creating the market. With that mindset, SSI considers itself a pioneer (first mover) in the field of digital finance," he said.

However, Mr. Hung also pointed out a key point that the market can only develop when the law allows and creates conditions for effective business. "SSI has prepared the technology team, infrastructure and strategy, but sustainable development must come from a complete and synchronous legal framework" - Mr. Hung emphasized.

Another interesting perspective mentioned by Mr. Hung is that the main goal of the digital asset market must be to create conditions for "builders", that is, young people who create Vietnamese technology products, to be able to sell them on international exchanges and bring foreign currency back to the country.

"If you only buy international currencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum, the money is actually flowing abroad. Therefore, the digital asset market in Vietnam needs to become a platform to nurture domestic creators, just like the stock market is designed to help businesses raise capital to develop production and business," he said.

He also likened SSI and other leading organizations to be just "fire-starters", laying the first bricks for a new market. But it is that fire, over many years and many generations of builders, that can create a true digital asset market, comparable to stocks or real estate.
