The Mid-Autumn Festival for Children program “Lanterns light up dreams” has been organized by the Youth Union Councils at all levels and Youth Union bases with many diverse activities. More than 6 million lanterns and Mid-Autumn Festival gifts have been given to children in difficult circumstances, poor households, remote areas, border areas, islands; children living in shelters, open houses, childcare centers, facilities for disabled children, children with serious illnesses; orphans, children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic across the country...

During the journey "Lanterns light up dreams" in Dak Lak Province, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers organized many meaningful activities, imbued with a deep humanitarian spirit for children with the theme "Mid-Autumn Festival with friends, happy to go to school" such as: Photo exhibition of the journey "Lanterns light up dreams" of 63 provinces and cities; Organizing fun, experiential and exchange activities for children; Inauguration and donation of "Space for reading, interaction and Team activities" , competition to display Mid-Autumn Festival trays, decorate lanterns; lantern procession, lion dance.

At the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of Young Pioneers presented 200 gifts to disadvantaged children in Dak Lak Province. Of which, 100 children received each gift worth 1.8 million VND (including: 1 million VND scholarship, school backpack and Mid-Autumn Festival gift), 100 children received each gift worth 2.3 million VND (including 1 bicycle and 1 Mid-Autumn Festival gift). In addition, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of Young Pioneers also presented 500 gifts, each worth 550 thousand VND (including school backpack, Mid-Autumn Festival gift) to 500 children participating in the program; the Provincial Youth Union and units in Dak Lak province presented 1,000 gifts to children participating in the program.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of Young Pioneers presented many projects, scholarships, and gifts to children in localities worth nearly 13 billion VND. Of which, nearly 7 billion VND was given to children in 15 northern provinces and cities affected by storm No. 3 (super typhoon Yagi ).
