According to The Guardian, Karina Oakley is the only daughter of Charlotte Fraser, a marketing employee in Guildford. Karina's father is Nick, a programmer who is very good at Physics and Mathematics.

Although she lived with her mother since childhood, Karina inherited her father's intelligence. Her mother was the one who discovered that Karina had outstanding differences compared to her peers. Neighbors near the house of mother and daughter also realized that Karina had a gift for languages.

“Ever since she started talking, Karina surprised everyone with her unexpected statements that were beyond her age,” said Karina’s mother, adding that she once went to a psychologist for advice about her daughter’s case.

At the age of 3, Karina was taken to London by her mother to undergo the necessary tests because her imagination was not like that of a child.

In the British capital, Karina was given a 45-minute IQ test. She was asked to complete listening, speaking, memorizing, holding a pen and some number-related questions. The test results surprised the experts there.

“Karia has a different imagination compared to children her age. She has an IQ of 160, in the top 0.03% of the population with the highest IQ in the world,” said famous psychologist Joan Freeman, admitting that she has met many smart children but the case of the 2-year-old girl from Guildford is very special.

When talking to Karina, the British professor could not hide his surprise at her extraordinary intelligence. The professor affirmed that the girl had natural talent.

At the time, another 2-year-old girl named Elise Tan-Roberts in north London was also found to have an IQ of 156. Elise could count to 10 in English and Spanish and recite the alphabet and the names of 35 capital cities.

Elise had already wowed the whole of England, but when Karina appeared, the country's media exploded even more.

Lessons from child prodigies

After returning from London, Karina’s mother began to research famous child prodigies around the world. Although each had different circumstances, many had the same unfortunate ending because they developed too quickly.

Some people are so smart that they become eccentric and lonely in life. Some geniuses are self-taught, beyond their years, but fall into the fate of "blooming early and fading early".

This made her extremely worried. Karina's mother feared that she would fall into tragedy if she tried to exploit her superiority.

“Every parent wants their child to have a happy, interesting childhood, with a balance between studying and playing. I believe no adult will regret not taking the high school graduation exam at the age of 9,” she shared.

Learning from the lessons of other child prodigies, Karina's mother decided not to push her child to study or train a genius mind. She also did not pressure her little child to become an outstanding researcher.

So she still let Karina attend kindergarten at a nearby school, in age-appropriate classes. Even though her child performed better than her friends, Karina's mother still did not let her skip a grade.

The girl with an outstandingly high IQ lives happily, freely imagines and develops in the most natural way.

To date, Karina and her mother have a simple, peaceful life in their hometown. Many people express regret at the talent of the British prodigy, however she is very satisfied with her current life.

She did not belong to any organization for special people. Now people only mention Karina in some articles because she is a rare case of a prodigy who chose a normal life instead of the halo of fame.
