Charity fire from vegetarian kitchen
Every full moon and the first day of the month, the small kitchen at Ms. Hang's house is bustling with the sound of knives and chopping boards, the aroma of stir-fried vegetables, and the lively chatter of union members and relatives. From 5 am, everyone starts working: washing vegetables, peeling roots... to have 150 - 200 hot vegetarian meals delivered to the distribution point at km106, Highway 20 by 11 am.
The vegetarian meals are not only eye-catching and nutritious, but also full of sharing. The recipients are poor workers, single people, people who stop by from afar... everyone smiles when meeting the kind eyes and polite greetings of this "little Secretary of the Youth Union". "On the full moon day, being able to eat free vegetarian meals like this is so much fun, it's both delicious and heartwarming", a motorbike taxi driver at Dinh Quan market shared.

Accompanying young people to rise up
As Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, Ms. Hang is not only attached to the charity kitchen but also a "bridge" to bring policies to the youth. Assigned to be in charge of loans from the Social Policy Bank, she has supported 36 young people who have just left school to access preferential capital to continue studying or learning a trade.
"There are students who are good students but want to quit school because their families are too poor. I have to go to their homes to encourage them and help them with loan applications. When I see them return to school, I am very happy," Ms. Hang confided.
In addition, she also proactively contacted press agencies and scholarship funds to sponsor computers and books for disadvantaged students. Many poor families in remote hamlets who previously thought education was a luxury now have more confidence to send their children to school.

"Shield of Youth"
When this season's storms and floods hit, many roofs in the commune were blown off, trees fell and blocked the road, furniture was flooded, electricity was cut off... Ms. Hang was the first person to call on the youth union members, police and military youth forces in the area to come and help. From cleaning up houses, rebuilding roofs, clearing broken trees... to mobilizing emergency support from the "For the Poor" fund, she was present and directly commanded.
On rainy and muddy days, the green volunteer shirts of her and her fellow members still stand out in the village. That image moves the people and they confidently call her the "youth shield" of the commune.

Fundraising with flowers
On the occasions of March 8, October 20 or other major holidays, Ms. Hang takes advantage of her wax flower shop to initiate fundraising flower sales activities. Union members are assigned to flower selling points, and the profits are used to award scholarships to poor students.
In 2021, her fund supported 15 students, each with 500,000 VND. In 2022, the number increased to 33 students. To date, the fund has accumulated 35 million VND, always ready to use in emergencies or on the occasion of the opening of the school year, Children's Day. "Flowers for people, money for children" - this creative way is both meaningful and connects the community.

Spread the movement and love for the homeland
In addition to social welfare activities, Ms. Hang also regularly organizes trips for local youth to visit historical sites, combining entertainment and traditional education . Each trip includes presentations and stories about national heroes, helping the younger generation understand and be proud of their homeland and country.
Meeting her at the La Nga Victory Monument - where the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City was about to welcome - we could clearly see the hustle and bustle and joy in her eyes. Her green shirt was drenched in sweat, but her voice was still enthusiastic when talking about new plans for the Youth Union movement.
With her tireless contributions, in 2025, Ms. Pham Le Dieu Hang was honored as one of 116 outstanding young party members of Dinh Quan commune, and also an outstanding Youth Union official of the commune. Previously, she received many certificates of merit from the province and district for her achievements in Youth Union work and youth movements.

These awards are a recognition of the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth" that Ms. Hang has preserved and passed on. But for her, the most precious thing is the trust and love of her people, colleagues and the younger generation. "As long as I have the strength, I will continue to work. I hope that the members of the Youth Union will see that youth is not only for themselves, but also for contributing to making society better," Ms. Hang said with a bright smile.
