80 years have passed since the day beloved Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, officially declaring that Vietnam had the right to freedom and independence like many other countries and peoples around the world. The spirit and momentum from those days are still being passed down and multiplied naturally, as naturally as the red blood flowing in the body.
"August, the green autumn
Clouds drifting lazily
What a beautiful day today!
My clouds, my red sky
Democratic Republic of Vietnam!
The dark shadows have scattered
The August sky is bright again
On the way back to the capital
Red flags fly around Uncle Ho's silver hair...
(We go forward - To Huu)
Although we were not historical witnesses to the important moment when Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence, through the historical pages and the emotional poems and prose as above, we - the descendants following in the footsteps of our ancestors that autumn - were also passed on the pride and the bright faith. From that moment, a new page of history of the Vietnamese nation was opened.
Our Party and President Ho Chi Minh have met the most urgent needs of the people, which are Independence - Freedom - Happiness. Following the Party, following Uncle Ho, the people "only lose their chains but gain the whole world", first of all, they shake off the status of slaves, decide their own future, decide the future of the country. The entire Vietnamese people have "shaken off the mud and stood up to shine brightly". Like a fragrant and beautiful lotus rising from the black mud to shine and bring fragrance to life, Vietnam has become a symbol of love for peace , fighting against the invading power, encouraging the patriotic movement of the people of the world...
The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, a very important milestone in the thousands of years of history of the nation, and at the same time opens a journey full of efforts of the country and the Vietnamese people. From a country that has just broken the chains of slavery and hardships to fight to protect the Fatherland, Vietnam has affirmed its position as a dynamic, vocal and responsible nation in the international arena. Vietnam has made great strides in both national status, from economy , society, culture, foreign relations... to the level of personal development, where each person has more and more opportunities to develop their life, physical, intellectual, spiritual, thinking and professional skills. Now Vietnam has entered a new era, an era of national growth, requiring further leaps.
Ba Dinh Square is always crowded recently. Not only the people of the capital but also many people from all over the country and abroad come here to stroll. Everyone's mind is focused on President Ho's Mausoleum, where Uncle Ho is sleeping peacefully, and it seems like his voice is still warm from above: "I say, can you hear me?". Young and old, men and women, who come here, are all dressed very carefully and the main outfit is the red flag with a yellow star. Young men and women take selfies together, create trends, then everyone "catches the trend", "follows the trend"... That is the word of today's "netizens", if "following" negative "trends" is condemnable, but the patriotic "trend" is wonderful!
It is gratifying that the recent major events of the country always leave beautiful echoes, having a profound impact on the spiritual life of the people. More specifically, the expressions of the youth increasingly show us that they are worthy of being the next generation of their fathers and brothers to multiply the love of the country, the dedication to the noble ideal of independence and freedom. The new melodies praising the Fatherland written by young musicians are worthy of being wonderful works of art. These works are spread by the young voices of "peacetime", gentle but profound, attracting the youth very naturally into a common flow of the nation, that is patriotism!
Loving these autumn days, suddenly remembering and sympathizing with poet Che Lan Vien, who once asked the question:
" Oh Red River, the song of four thousand years
Has the homeland ever been this beautiful?
(Has the Fatherland ever been this beautiful? - Che Lan Vien)
Happiness is defined by each person’s concept, so it is always diverse. Happiness for me is not having everything complete and perfect, but like today, when I feel full of positive energy. I will walk in the morning sun and wind of Ba Dinh, watch the red flag with yellow star fluttering, join the seemingly endless stream of happy people…
