In addition to tuition fees, students of the Wings of Dreams Scholarship are also sponsored for living expenses and learning equipment.

Mr. Dang Hoai Phuc - Executive Director at Sao Mai Center and Ms. Dinh Viet Anh - Vice President at Vietnam Blind Association emphasized: "When receiving quality education , they will be able to develop their abilities to work, live independently, and integrate into the community", Mr. Phuc added: "Many scholarship programs are creating educational opportunities for young people with disabilities or difficulties, and the most prominent is the Wings of Dreams scholarship of RMIT University Vietnam". This is the school's most valuable scholarship category, helping scholarship holders have all the conditions, from tuition fees to learning tools suitable for their disabilities, adding motivation for them to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

When dreams take flight

RMIT’s Wings of Dreams scholarship program started in 2014 and has now been accompanying many talented, studious young people for 10 years. Working alongside RMIT in identifying and nominating deserving young people are organizations such as the Vietnam Blind Association, Sao Mai Center and many others – partners who share the mission of initiating changes in the community.

As someone who is involved in activities to support young people with disabilities, Mr. Dang Hoai Phuc shared his feelings: "Receiving the RMIT Wings of Dreams scholarship is the dream of many students with disabilities. Thanks to that, they have enjoyed a wonderful international educational environment so that no one is left behind. In my opinion, blind students trained at RMIT have all demonstrated leadership roles while studying. That is very important to me. Because from there, they can contribute to changing their community as well as society in general in a positive and effective way."

Ms. Viet Anh also sympathizes with this opinion and gives specific examples of young people who have received the Dream Wings scholarship: "Students like Nghiem Thu Loan, Dao Thuy Linh, Luong Thi Tra My... have all made great efforts throughout their studies. By receiving the RMIT scholarship, their dreams have truly been given wings, they are more determined to study, and at the same time become more optimistic, confident and mature."

"In addition to educational opportunities, creating a diverse and equal environment reflects a civilized and humane society. That also helps non-disabled students a lot in the process of learning and developing themselves to become truly successful people in the future," Mr. Phuc advised.

The journey to create positive change continues.

With a journey of hard work, the RMIT Dream Wings scholarship winners have all become more confident and courageous in their work, and they have also become people who sow motivation and dreams for other young people, especially those with similar conditions. Mr. Phuc happily said, "The center is currently receiving positive contributions from visually impaired members who received RMIT scholarships, such as Nguyen Tuan Tu, Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Nghiem Thu Loan or Vong Minh Nhi,... They have been accompanying the center to carry out a number of development activities for the visually impaired community such as training in soft skills, leadership skills, supporting students, and attending international forums related to people with disabilities. Some of them, like Nghiem Thu Loan, have even published their own books with messages that add hope and strength to other young people."

The journey to create positive change continues, through scholarship programs like RMIT's Wings of Dreams.

RMIT's Fulfilling Dreams Scholarship is part of the RMIT Vietnam Scholarship program. The RMIT Scholarship Fund 2024, with the message "Inviting you to join RMIT in creating change", continues to award 106 scholarships with a total value of more than 51 billion VND to ambitious and talented young people in many diverse categories. The deadline to apply for the RMIT Vietnam Scholarship 2024 is July 5, 2024. More information about the RMIT scholarship program here.
