'Humans will upgrade themselves to work with AI'

Mr. Vu Anh Tu - CTO ofFPT believes that people will need to learn how to work with AI.

* Recently, AI (artificial intelligence) has been a very "hot" topic and is mentioned frequently. We all know that AI was born to serve humans, but this technology is too smart and not all users can access and master the manipulation of artificial intelligence. What do you think about this reality?

- Mr. Vu Anh Tu : Artificial intelligence is the next technology of many different existing technologies. For example, before the invention of weaving machines, weaving workers were an extremely important force, but when machines were available to help with the work, the workers themselves would have to upgrade themselves to a higher level, instead of weaving, they could manage, design or do other jobs.

Now that AI is born, artificial intelligence can replace many jobs that humans had to do before, especially repetitive things. I think that the emergence of AI, like previous technologies, will replace humans in some roles. Therefore, everyone must learn how to work with AI. Just like we work with computers, now we will work with both AI and computers. In other words, people will have to learn how to upgrade themselves to know how to use AI in different jobs, thereby focusing on solving other problems, creating more productivity and efficiency.

* In your opinion, when and how can AI be popularized to ordinary users to help them "upgrade themselves" in the new development period?

- The current cooperation between international AI enterprises, organizations, and research institutes with Vietnam aims to bring a series of AI programs to different groups of users, from elementary to university level, to approach and learn how to work with artificial intelligence. FPT itself also has a strategy focusing on AI training, for example, a program for leaders of member units so that they can learn and exploit the potential that AI can bring to the businesses they manage, thereby optimizing processes, operations, and increasing internal labor productivity. AI is an important topic that everyone from leaders to employees must learn to know how to work with AI because artificial intelligence is entering life and accompanying everyone, sometimes without realizing it.

* At the recently held FPT Techday 2023, AI was one of the "hottest" topics. So how did FPT build its AI strategy with specific goals, sir?

- Regarding AI, FPT identifies it as the spearhead of the group's technology. Our recent important event is the launch of the AI ​​model that generates Vietnamese language built by FPT Smart Cloud - one of FPT's member companies, and this will be the foundation for building AI in many different fields such as finance - banking, economics , education, healthcare, trade... Next, at FPT Techday 2023, the group signed a cooperation agreement with Landing AI, a company founded by Andrew Ng, who leads the AI ​​industry in the field of computer vision, a field that promises to be much larger in scale than the field of natural language processing. In the coming time, we will devote resources to developing computer vision. In fact, FPT and Landing AI have provided solutions for a number of automobile factories in the North American market.

AI is "infiltrating" every aspect of life without everyone realizing the presence of this technology.

* We have talked a lot about the benefits of artificial intelligence. As a technology expert, what do you think about the negative aspects and potential risks of this technology?

- Of course, everything has two sides, creating many different problems. For example, the development of technology brings many benefits, but at the same time, the reality is that children spend too much time on computers, phones, social networks - which are not good things, the downside of technology. In that downside, there is a relatively serious problem: the content that AI gives people is the most suitable for them. This content is trained based on the interests of the user or from the content creator who wants to promote that issue. From there, people can fall into the trap of one-sided, non-objective content, bringing wrong and distorted views.
