Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed that the Central Government always pays special attention to Da Nang and highly appreciates the efforts of the city government in concretizing the major policies of the Party and State. The formation of the Trade and Investment Zone is a strategic initiative of the Da Nang City Party Committee, highly connected to the global value chain, thereby creating growth momentum not only for Da Nang but also for the Central region and the entire Vietnamese economy.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, the Government is also very pleased with Da Nang's new proposals. In addition to the Trade and Investment Zone, the Central Government also allows Da Nang to implement many new economic initiatives such as the Financial Center, deep-water port, river of light..., which will certainly make Da Nang develop more strongly in the coming time.
“This is the first Trade Zone in Vietnam, but it will certainly be a successful Trade Zone, drawing many lessons for other Trade Zones across the country in the future,” Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized.

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Da Nang City awarded a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTA) to 8 strategic investors. Among them are big names such as Sun Group, BRG, Thanh Binh Phu My, Phuong Trang, Newtechco Group, and domestic and foreign enterprises such as Tere Holdings, One Destination, Lien Thai Binh Duong, Saigon Da Nang, Phytopharco Vietnam.
Sun Group Corporation will invest in 3 strategic locations (No. 5, 6, 7) with a total area of over 640 hectares, developing into commercial complexes, resorts, duty-free shops and high-end amenities such as schools, hospitals, cultural and sports centers.
In addition, Da Nang City also granted investment research permission to 4 potential investors including: Amata Vietnam, Green Ipark, Quoc Quang Electricity and European Plastics.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that the city will accompany and provide maximum support so that investors can confidently implement the project. At the same time, Da Nang City has been proactively developing an action plan, proposing to the National Assembly and the Government to consider adding more specific and open mechanisms, allowing the expansion of the boundaries of the commercial center to potential locations, including the sea space, in order to anticipate the administrative merger with Quang Nam province in the coming time. This is a strategic step to soon turn this area into a new development driving force, with a spillover effect across the Central Highlands region.
“The announcement of the establishment of the trade and investment zone is not only to widely inform about preferential policies but also demonstrates Da Nang's strong political commitment in attracting strategic investment,” Mr. Chinh emphasized.

Da Nang Trade and Investment Zone was established under Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2025 of the Prime Minister, on the basis of implementing Resolution 136/2024/QH15. The project has a total scale of 1,881 hectares, distributed in 7 non-contiguous locations, mainly in Lien Chieu district and Hoa Vang district.
This area is organized into functional sub-areas including: production, logistics, trade - services, digital technology industry, innovation, and other supporting functions according to legal regulations. In particular, many key items will be linked to the International Financial Center, aiming to build Da Nang into a strategic link in the East - West Economic Corridor and the Asia - Pacific region.
