More than 110 large enterprises and economic groups attended the Exhibition of the country's achievements in the 80-year journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness, at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi).

Not only contributing to creating a modern and rich exhibition space, the business community also represents the country's production capacity, innovation and deep integration. They are a living proof of the internal strength of an independent and self-reliant economy, linked to global trends, reflecting the stature and strong aspiration of Vietnam in the new era.

Hall 2 at the National Achievement Exhibition has the theme "Economic Locomotive", recreating the glorious journey of large corporations and enterprises - the core force in building and developing Vietnam's economy over the past 80 years. Each exhibition booth is a story about vision, courage and aspiration to rise up for the prosperity of the country.

In the energy sector, there is the booth of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN). Every year, PVN supplies 9-11 billion m³ of gas, produces 35% of electricity, 70% of nitrogen fertilizer, and ensures 70-80% of gas for domestic consumption. Currently, PVN contributes an average of about 9% of GDP and 9-10% of total state budget revenue.

Also in this field is the exhibition booth of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) - the enterprise that plays the role of creating the national power infrastructure, with a total system capacity of more than 88,400 MW - leading Southeast Asia and ranking 22nd in the world . Key projects such as the 500 kV North-South line (3 circuits), submarine cables across the sea bringing electricity to remote islands (11 special zones (formerly island districts), corresponding to 18 islands)... are proof of the will to overcome difficulties and the strategic stature of Vietnam's electricity industry.

In the field of technology - telecommunications, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) stands out with its civil and military technology products. Among them are many products belonging to national strategic technology groups, such as: new generation telecommunications networks, semiconductor chips, robots, network security and aerospace.

Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) - one of the leading technology enterprises in Vietnam - has brought about typical achievements such as: Vinasat satellite, VSTN international cable connecting Vietnam with the region, Internet service on airplanes... The private sector also had an impressive presence. Vingroup launched the high-end electric car model Lac Hong 900 LX and displayed Vingroup robot models designed by Vietnamese engineers... Vingroup is the investor of the National Exhibition Center (where the exhibition of the country's 80th anniversary is being held) with a scale of about 90 hectares and a total investment of over 7,000 billion VND. This is one of the top 10 largest exhibition projects in the world and currently the largest in Southeast Asia.

Hoa Phat Enterprise displayed many products such as HRC hot rolled steel coil, prestressed steel cables and high quality steel, especially rail steel and shaped steel - which no other enterprise in Vietnam can produce, affirming its position as the number 1 steel enterprise in Southeast Asia, top 30 in the world.

Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (Thaco) also has a booth at the exhibition. Thaco is one of the largest multi-industry enterprises in Vietnam. From the initial field of automobile manufacturing and assembly, after more than 25 years, Thaco has expanded into the fields of industry, logistics, agriculture and infrastructure investment. This enterprise has built a thousand-hectare urban industrial complex in Chu Lai, which is currently the largest automobile manufacturing facility in the country.

The booth of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) represents the food processing industry. Vinamilk has become a national brand in the domestic market, and its products are also present in 65 international markets.

In addition to large corporations and enterprises, the exhibition also has booths of many small and medium-sized enterprises and innovative start-ups, representing the dynamism, creativity and diversity of the economy, reflecting the strong vitality of the Vietnamese business community in all fields.

The formation and development of Vietnamese enterprises are closely linked to each stage of the revolution and the process of building the country. Immediately after the August Revolution in 1945, in the context of economic exhaustion, the young State encouraged commerce and small-scale production, gradually forming state-owned industrial and commercial establishments as the foundation for an independent economy.

Through two resistance wars against invaders, the state-owned enterprise system has always played a core role, maintaining production under fierce bomb and bullet conditions, ensuring logistics for the battlefield. In the early period after the country's reunification (1975-1986), despite being limited by the centralized bureaucratic mechanism, state-owned enterprises were still the economic pillars, ensuring necessities, maintaining basic production, and building the initial industrial foundation.

The 1986 renovation turning point opened a new era for Vietnamese enterprises. The policy of developing a multi-sector economy, operating under a socialist-oriented market mechanism, created conditions for the formation and strong development of the private enterprise sector alongside state-owned enterprises. From small-scale production facilities, hundreds of thousands of private companies were born, quickly becoming the new driving force of economic growth.

According to statistics, Vietnam has about 940,000 operating enterprises, of which the private sector contributes about 51% of GDP, more than 30% of the state budget, creating more than 40 million jobs. The dynamism and creativity of private enterprises, together with the leading role of key state-owned corporations, have formed a diverse, modern business community, capable of competing in the international environment.

The Vietnamese business community not only creates material wealth but also contributes to shaping the face of the modern economy. They are the pioneering force in industrialization, modernization, promoting technological innovation, improving labor productivity, and building national brands. In particular, in international integration, businesses are the force that directly takes advantage of opportunities from new-generation free trade agreements such as CPTPP, EVFTA, RCEP... They both strive to meet international standards on quality, environment, and labor, and expand investment abroad, contributing to positioning Vietnamese brands on the world economic map.

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution, global digital transformation, green economy, and circular economy, the Vietnamese business community is facing great opportunities and challenges, requiring businesses to continue to improve their competitiveness, innovate, invest in high technology, build autonomous value chains, and enhance the national brand.

Our Party and State have identified the strong development of the business community as a strategic requirement and the most important driving force to realize the goal of Vietnam becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045. Recent decisions such as establishing a Steering Committee to develop a private economic development project, promoting institutional reform, removing bottlenecks in capital, land, science and technology, etc. are strategic steps demonstrating high political determination and accompanying businesses.

The exhibition of 80 years of national achievements is not only an opportunity to look back on the development journey and honor the great contributions of the business community to the national economy, but also affirms their strong aspirations to rise up and integrate deeply in the new era. From the solid foundation that has been built, together with the companionship of the Party, the State and the People, this pioneering force will continue to contribute to building a prosperous and powerful Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.
