"Make in Vietnam" technology affirms Vietnam's position on the global map

“Make in Vietnam” technology products deployed over the past 5 years are affirming Vietnam’s capacity for innovation and raising its position on the global technology map. Imprints in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are creating momentum to bring Vietnam into a new era.

The mark of technology mastery

The exhibition of national achievements “80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” is attracting a large number of people and tourists from home and abroad to visit and experience. The main attractions for people are the new technology products introduced by ministries, branches and businesses, from humanoid robots, drones to virtual reality space...

Mr. Ha Minh Quan, 70 years old in Hanoi, expressed: “Many new technologies are vivid and close to reality. Technological achievements are not just for viewing and display, but have contributed positively to the experience of each citizen, from touchable technology products such as robots, UAVs, semiconductor chips, to solutions such as VR, 360 cameras, holograms... recreating the country's 80-year journey. As a citizen, I am proud of the achievements from the minds of Vietnamese people...".

At the exhibition, many visitors gathered around VinMotion's humanoid robots, nearly 1.7 m tall, able to walk, wave, talk in Vietnamese, and have natural conversations with the person experiencing them. Or the Hera drone technology, the world's leading foldable drone line, completely researched, designed and manufactured by Vietnamese people, is being applied in defense, security and civil affairs, and has even been exported to the US...

Notably, another highlight in theFPT Chip Inside ecosystem is widely applied in medical equipment, vehicles, consumer electronics and security, having exported 70 million chips to the international market; Vconnex pioneered the development of AI cameras and has exported 10,000 products to Europe, affirming its global competitiveness... Most visitors shared the same opinion that the exhibition is proof of the results of Vietnam's long journey of development, from a difficult agricultural country to a strong rise to master technology.

In the flow of national digital transformation, the VneID electronic identification application has now become the "digital key" for the people. The application has been deployed by the Ministry of Public Security since 2022, VNeID helps to perform a series of online public services: Temporary residence declaration, vehicle registration, bill payment, linking with taxes and social insurance... Thanks to that, the e-Government Development Index in 2024 increased by 15 places, bringing Vietnam to 71st place globally.

On the other hand, telecommunications infrastructure, the pillar of the digital economy, is making impressive progress. Vietnam successfully auctioned 5G frequencies for the first time, with commercialization starting in 2025. To date, 12,263 5G broadcasting stations have been installed, covering 26% of the population; 4G coverage reached 99.8% of the population, higher than the average of developed countries; mobile and fixed internet speed ranked 19th in the world, up dozens of places compared to 2020... These advances pave the way for the development of IoT, smart transportation, and automated factories, important foundations for the digital age.

Building the “Make in Vietnam” brand

Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, said: Since the Doi Moi in 1986, our Party has always considered science and technology as one of the leading factors promoting development. From 2000 to present, a specialized legal system has been formed: Law on Science and Technology (KH&N), Law on Intellectual Property, Law on Technology Transfer, Law on High Technology, etc.

In particular, in 2021, the Party continued to add the content of "innovation" as a strategic breakthrough factor. The 13th National Congress Document (2021) emphasized sustainable development based on the foundation of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. Next, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (2024) of the Politburo emphasized that the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are prerequisites for Vietnam to rise up.

In 40 years of renovation, science and technology have contributed to changing the face of the country. Major projects such as the Hoa Binh and Son La Hydropower Plants, the 500 KV North-South power line, oil and gas projects, bridges, roads, airports, etc. all bear the mark of science and technology. In the field of health, Vietnam has mastered many modern technologies such as organ transplantation, stem cells, vaccine production, etc., contributing to improving the quality of public health care; in agriculture, high-quality plant and animal varieties have been researched and applied, increasing export value and improving farmers' lives; in the field of national defense and security, many high technologies have been developed, modern network security systems have been built, contributing to protecting national sovereignty, etc.

In particular, in the field of atomic energy, the National Assembly passed the Law on Atomic Energy (amended), paving the way for the implementation of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant and small-scale modular nuclear reactors. Nuclear technology is also applied in medicine (radiotherapy, cancer treatment), agriculture (high-yield, disease-resistant mutant varieties), environmental industry, etc.

To encourage Vietnamese enterprises to continue to reach out and master Vietnamese brand technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology has launched and maintained the annual "Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product" Award since 2020. Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information Technology Industry (Ministry of Science and Technology) said: 2025 is the 6th year the award has been held and for the first time the award will honor outstanding strategic digital technology products in the List of 11 strategic technology products recently approved by the Government.

Over the past 5 years, the Award has attracted more than 1,000 entries. The Organizing Committee has honored and awarded a total of 252 Awards. Many award-winning products of enterprises have been applied in practice, solving the "problem" of market development and expansion, contributing to bringing Vietnamese knowledge values ​​to the world; making an important contribution to the national digital transformation, promoting the digital transformation process of industries and socio-economic fields faster and more effectively.

“Make in Vietnam” technology products are building the image of a dynamic, creative, and integration-ready nation. The synchronous coordination between policies, businesses, and the scientific community has created a new position and strength for the country, turning science and technology into a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter the era of creativity and knowledge.
