Da Nang voters petition many urgent social issues

On the morning of October 3, the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang city held a meeting to review the wards of Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, Son Tra, An Hai, and Thanh Khe before the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Attending the meeting were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate Nguyen Van Quang; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong; Deputy Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Duy Minh; former Deputy Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Duong Van Phuoc; Vice President of the City Women's Union Dang Thi Bao Trinh.

Also attending were: Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Voters raised many people's concerns

At the meeting, many voters expressed their concerns and made recommendations on "hot" issues such as: high housing prices, personnel work in two-level local governments, inadequacies in urban infrastructure planning and development, as well as fisheries support policies...

Voter Nguyen Thanh Ngoc (Thanh Khe ward) said that the price of apartments has increased from 70 to 100 million VND/m2, making it difficult for people, especially low-income groups, to access.

Voter Vu Tien Dung (Hai Chau ward) acknowledged that the commune and ward authorities are increasingly close to the people and effective, but suggested that the city continue to train young officials and supplement human resources from the city level to the grassroots to better serve the people; at the same time, soon have a plan to arrange working headquarters after the merger.

Voter Cao Van Minh (Son Tra ward) reflected on the difference in support policies for fishermen between Da Nang and Quang Nam (old), suggesting unifying regulations so that fishermen can feel secure at sea. Some other voters pointed out the difficulties in granting and exchanging land use right certificates in suspended planning areas, causing great impacts on people's lives.

Resolutely remove obstacles

Receiving and explaining at the conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Pham Duc An shared and acknowledged the opinions of voters. Regarding the issue of real estate prices, the city leader said that this is a big, long-term story that has received attention from the State with solutions to build social housing for low-income people.

However, controlling real estate prices is a complicated issue, requiring drastic intervention from the entire political system and careful research from the National Assembly in the coming time.

Regarding the activities of the two-level local government, the Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Da Nang is determined to effectively deploy, review and allocate staff to ensure the government is close to the people, serving quickly and effectively. "If the settlement of administrative procedures is delayed somewhere, it is either due to negligence or the capacity of the staff. The city will monitor, supervise and handle it thoroughly" - the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized.

Regarding the headquarters after the administrative unit arrangement, the city will calculate to avoid fragmentation, both saving money and making it convenient for the people. Recommendations on fishing unions, accessing data on sea voyages, personal income tax, traffic safety, urban infrastructure investment, etc. will also be directly explained by the city leaders.
