Voters expect a streamlining of the apparatus, excited about the policy of free tuition

Voters and people trust and have high expectations for the drastic directions on implementing the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus and the policy of exempting all tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school in public schools.

Continuing the 43rd session, on the morning of March 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee reviewed the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in February 2025.

Presenting the Report, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision Duong Thanh Binh said that voters and people trust and expect the drastic directions of the Party Central Committee, directly by General Secretary To Lam, the National Assembly, and the Government on implementing the policy of innovation, streamlining the organization and apparatus of the political system to operate effectively, efficiently, and effectively; and the policy of exempting all tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school in public schools nationwide of the Politburo.

Voters and people highly appreciated the results of the 9th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly. The laws and resolutions passed promptly institutionalized the Party's policies and resolutions, serving the requirements of streamlining the apparatus, contributing to perfecting the institutions, unleashing all resources, creating the premise to bring our country into a new era, an era of striving for strong, prosperous development of the nation.

Voters and people highly appreciate the Prime Minister's decision to assign targets for completing social housing in 2025 and the following years until 2030 and expect that in the coming time, the development of social housing will achieve the expected results, promoting the development of real estate projects, meeting the housing needs of the people.

Besides the highly appreciated results, voters and people are worried about the increasing trend of juvenile crime and the situation of students violating road traffic laws.

Air pollution still occurs in big cities with high risk of adversely affecting people's health.

Forms of fraud on the internet are increasingly sophisticated, causing serious economic, social and psychological consequences for individuals, organizations and the community.

Regarding the situation of citizens' complaints and denunciations, in February 2025, although the situation of citizens' complaints, denunciations, petitions and reflections decreased compared to January 2025, the situation was still very complicated, especially after the Lunar New Year holiday.

It is noteworthy that during this time, the situation of complaints related to corporate bonds and financial investments continues to be quite complicated.

Chairman of the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision Duong Thanh Binh proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to pay attention to directing the Ministry of Public Security to strengthen the fight against and prevention of crimes committed by minors and have solutions to overcome the crime situation of minors.

At the same time, closely coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen propaganda work, strictly handle cases of students driving motorbikes when underage, and punish vehicle owners who hand over vehicles to underage people.

The Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision recommends directing the Ministry of Education and Training to strengthen inspection, supervision, and evaluation of current moral, cultural, and lifestyle education for students.

At the same time, the ministry needs to check and evaluate the implementation of regulations on extra teaching and learning to make adjustments if they are not appropriate.

Discussing at the meeting, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the Report which was fully prepared and covered the required contents.

Chairman of the Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai commented on the National Assembly's report on people's aspirations.

According to Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai, in the people's petition report from the previous period to this period, many contents have been deployed and implemented effectively by agencies, such as contents related to extra study and extra teaching.

Or with the issue of early admission to university, the Ministry of Education and Training saw the unreasonable points that created unfairness in admission, so it directed strongly and this practice has reduced significantly.

Considering that early admission is a condition that can create profiteering from extra teaching and learning, the Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee gave an example: "Teachers who directly teach students have the right to add scores to their transcripts and those scores are a condition for university admission, which is no different from designated bidding."

In addition, Ms. Hai pointed out that there is also concern among the public about whether not taking extra classes will affect the quality of exams or not?

However, she affirmed that the measures regulating extra teaching and learning have restored the true value of imparting and teaching core knowledge in class.

"Teachers are responsible for teaching so that the majority of students can achieve good or fair results in exams. As for good students or students with weak abilities, they can still take extra classes according to regulations," Ms. Hai stated her opinion and noted that the exam questions must not be too difficult so that they can be done without taking extra classes.
