Da Nang sets the stage for forming an aviation technology complex

Previously, at the end of December 2023, the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks of Da Nang City granted an investment registration certificate to investor KP Aarospace Industries (Korea).

The project has a total investment of 20 million USD, aiming to manufacture, process and assemble aircraft parts, including auxiliary engine doors (APU Door), MIC tip (MIC tip), wing boxes (Wingbox), winglets (Winglet), flap support fairing (Flap support fairing) of Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 Max aircraft lines.

Groundbreaking ceremony scene

This is the second project in the aerospace sector invested in the Da Nang High-Tech Park, after the project of UAC Vietnam Co., Ltd. (currently in operation), creating the first foundation for the formation of an aerospace technology complex in the High-Tech Park.

According to the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks of Da Nang City, the successful attraction of two FDI projects in the aerospace sector from the United States and South Korea has affirmed the initial results of the action program of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee on calling for investment in key projects in the period of 2020 - 2025, making Da Nang City a high-tech center of the country by 2030.

Factory perspective

Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the investor made the right choice when developing the project in Da Nang City, not only in line with the city's development orientation and priority areas for attracting investment, but also contributing to making Da Nang an investment destination for aviation industry in the region and the world, concretizing the policy of making Da Nang a center of science and technology development.

"The factory's early operation is expected to bring benefits to investors, contribute to increasing the value of industrial production, exports, create jobs, affirm the city's consistent policy in administrative reform, improve the investment and business environment, attract investment...", Mr. Tran Chi Cuong affirmed.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, representatives of KP Aarospace Industries (Korea) thanked the enthusiastic support in completing procedures, documents, appraisal and quick licensing assessment, helping the unit overcome concerns about infrastructure as well as administrative procedures.

The investor also committed to promptly implementing construction procedures in accordance with regulations immediately after signing the land lease contract, with construction expected to start in early February 2024. The construction unit (General contractor for design, construction and construction DINCO) also strives to complete the project and officially start operations by the end of 2024.

KP Aerospace Industries is a partner of leading companies in the aviation industry such as Boeing, Airbus, Korean Air.

In 2023, the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks of Da Nang City granted new licenses to 19 projects with a total investment capital of 258.6 million USD (equivalent to 6,301 billion VND).

Up to now, the High-Tech Park, IT Park and Industrial Parks in Da Nang City have attracted 526 projects with a total investment capital of more than 3.4 million USD (more than 83,152 billion VND).

In 2024, the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks of Da Nang City will continue to focus on three main spearheads, including aerospace technology, semiconductor microchips and high-quality healthcare .
