Accordingly, nearly 3,000 students with registered residence in 19 provinces and cities affected by storms and floods will enjoy policies such as tuition reduction, scholarships and tuition payment extension.
Specifically, full-time university students of courses 48, 49, 50, 51 will receive a 10% reduction in tuition fees for the final semester of 2025. This support will be deducted from the tuition fees for the first semester of 2026; for students of course 48 who have graduated, the support amount will be transferred directly to their personal accounts.
In addition, UEH awarded 100 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances due to the impact of storms and floods. Of these, 70 scholarships worth more than 14 million VND each were for full-time students; the remaining 30 scholarships, worth 12 million VND each, were awarded to full-time students, Associate Degree 1 students, and part-time students. The total value of the scholarships reached more than 1.35 billion VND.
Scholarship eligibility is determined based on 3 criteria: Students are in difficult circumstances due to natural disasters; have not received a scholarship of equivalent value or a scholarship to support floods and natural disasters from UEH; have not been disciplined at the level of reprimand or higher. Scholarship applications are accepted online from October 6 to October 23, 2025 and in paper form from October 27 to October 31, 2025.
In particular, to reduce financial pressure on students and their families, UEH decided to extend the deadline for paying tuition fees for the first semester of 2026 to January 15, 2026.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director in charge of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics , said that with a total resource of nearly 7 billion VND to support nearly 3,000 students affected by storm No. 10 (Bualoi) in 2025, the program not only helps learners overcome immediate difficulties but also demonstrates UEH's long-term commitment to building a sustainable, equitable and community-connected learning environment.
“This is also a continuation of the nearly 50-year tradition of accompanying students, aiming to train responsible global citizens, ready to contribute to the common development of society,” Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung added.
According to UEH, 19 provinces and cities with students eligible for the policy include: Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Ninh Binh, Thua Thien-Hue, Son La, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong, Hung Yen and Da Nang.
