A representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade said that the school's Lunar New Year bonus in 2026 will be equal to the Lunar New Year bonus in 2025.
This bonus is implemented according to internal spending regulations, applied from the 2024-2025 school year. All officers, civil servants, employees, and school leaders with a working period of 1 year or more, regardless of title, position, or degree, will receive the same bonus, at 25 million VND/person.
For those who have worked at the school for less than 1 year or have unpaid leave, the calculation will be based on the actual number of months worked. Employees who leave or transfer jobs will only receive a bonus if they have worked for more than 6 months; the bonus will be based on the actual number of months worked. This bonus does not apply to day-work or seasonal contracts.
Officials who are disciplined at the level of reprimand or higher will only receive 70% of their bonus. If they are ranked B or lower for 2 consecutive months in a year, they will receive 90%; if they are ranked B or lower for 3 months, they will receive 80%.
In addition, the school has set aside a sum of money for New Year's lucky money for staff, lecturers, and employees as well as gifts for retired leaders and teachers. The total prize fund is estimated at about 20 billion VND.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announced the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday schedule lasting 4 weeks, from February 9 to March 8, 2026 (ie December 22, 2025 to January 21, 2026 lunar calendar).
The Tet holiday is specified in the 2025-2026 training schedule issued by the school's principal for the school's bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees.
