Thai Nguyen University strives to make English its second language

GD&TĐ - On September 30, Thai Nguyen University held a conference to summarize the Project on teaching and learning foreign languages ​​in the national education system for the period 2017-2025.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Dr. Nguyen Hong Lien, Vice President of Thai Nguyen University, emphasized: "This is an important occasion to look back at the achievements, frankly point out the existing limitations, and at the same time determine a new development direction with the goal of making English the second language at Thai Nguyen University."

During the 2017-2025 period, under the close direction of the Ministry of Education and Training , Thai Nguyen University has synchronously deployed many solutions to improve the quality of foreign language teaching and learning.
Key contents include: issuing support mechanisms and policies, innovating teaching programs according to international standards, enhancing the application of information technology, building a team of high-quality lecturers, and upgrading facilities serving teaching.

In particular, Thai Nguyen University focuses on fostering foreign language skills and pedagogical skills for English teachers at many levels, while effectively performing professional tasks assigned by the Ministry. Thanks to that, the quality of foreign language teaching and learning at Thai Nguyen University has made many significant advances. Students are increasingly confident in communicating in English, serving well for their study, research and international integration.

The conference identified strategic directions for the next phase. The focus was on developing a project to develop English as a second language. This means that English will not only be used in teaching but also become a popular tool in research, administration and international cooperation.
