In difficult conditions, the Party Committee of the National Assembly has led the National Assembly to successfully complete its tasks.
In his opening speech, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Le Tan Toi suggested a number of contents for delegates to focus on and contribute their opinions on: the organization and operation of the Party Delegation and the Party Committee of the National Assembly for the 2020-2025 term; on the directions, goals, tasks and solutions; at the same time, contributing opinions on the implementation organization and tasks of Party Committees in implementing the tasks and solutions set out in the draft Political Report and the draft Action Program; the contents in the detailed Appendices attached to the draft Action Program.
Regarding comments on the draft Report of the National Assembly Party Committee on the Documents of the 14th National Party Congress, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee requested that delegates continue to contribute comments based on the suggestions of the Central Committee to deepen the comments, assessments, goals and solutions of the draft Political Report of the 13th Party Central Committee and other documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.
Participating in giving comments on the Political Report of the 1st National Assembly Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, Standing Committee member, Deputy Head of the Party Inspection Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Tran Duc Thuan said that this is a Report that has been elaborately and comprehensively constructed on all aspects of work, seriously pointing out many limitations and shortcomings and proposing valuable lessons.
However, the Report needs to assess more deeply the characteristics and performance of the National Assembly in recent times, for example: in the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, the National Assembly is one of the leading exemplary agencies, streamlining the agencies of the National Assembly; or in the building of Party organizations of the National Assembly Party Committee, it also needs to be mentioned more... Thereby, to see more clearly, in the conditions of many difficulties, the National Assembly Party Committee has led the National Assembly to successfully complete its tasks, meeting the legitimate aspirations of voters and the People.
Regarding the leadership of the National Assembly during the past term, the Deputy Head of the Party Inspection Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee said that the National Assembly has closely followed its functions and tasks and has performed well the assigned tasks. However, it is necessary to emphasize and promote the leadership role of the Party organization, that is, the National Assembly Party Committee and Party organizations in the National Assembly in performing the tasks of law-making, supreme supervision and deciding on important issues of the country.
The Deputy Head of the Party Inspection Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee also suggested that it is necessary to evaluate more carefully the direction of targets and goals so that the affiliated Party Committees can be determined and make efforts to complete them.
Carefully evaluate the role of the Nationalities Council and the Committees
Thai Quynh Mai Dung, member of the Party Executive Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, full-time National Assembly member of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, said that Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era has provided major orientations and innovative thinking in law-making. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to concretize Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW to ensure consistency.
In addition, in the content of continuing to build and perfect institutions on national defense, security and foreign affairs, delegates suggested emphasizing that national defense, security and foreign affairs are regular and important tasks.
On the other hand, Trinh Xuan An, member of the Party Executive Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, full-time National Assembly deputy at the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, suggested that it is necessary to further evaluate the role of the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees in the general activities of the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly.
The member of the Party Executive Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee emphasized that, following the general functions and tasks of the National Assembly and stating very specific tasks, the agencies that carry out those tasks are the Nationalities Council and the National Assembly Committees, including the Party Cells, Party members, Party Cells of the Nationalities Council and the Committees - this is the soul in the activities of the National Assembly. Therefore, carefully assessing the role of the Nationalities Council and the National Assembly Committees will contribute to enhancing the strength, fighting power as well as the Party spirit in these agencies.
Concluding the meeting, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, Chairman of the Committee Le Tan Toi highly appreciated the intellectual and profound contributions of the delegates; requested that the Secretariat absorb as much as possible, synthesize and transfer to the Document Subcommittee for further research, absorption and completion to report to the Congress at the official session.
