The 18th Congress of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, took place from September 24 to 26, 2025.

With the theme "Building a clean and strong Party and political system; promoting the strength of solidarity; mobilizing all resources, realizing development aspirations; building Lang Son into a growth pole of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region", the Congress has the task of comprehensively assessing the implementation results of the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025; determining the vision, goals, directions, tasks and main solutions for the term 2025-2030; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party; electing the 18th Provincial Party Executive Committee and electing the Provincial Delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Congress elected the 18th Provincial Party Executive Committee consisting of 52 comrades, ensuring standards of political qualities, capacity, prestige and mettle, capable of shouldering the common work of the Party Committee.

Comrade Hoang Van Nghiem was elected to hold the position of Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

The Congress believes and expects that the 18th Party Executive Committee will be united, unanimous, promote the spirit of responsibility, maintain discipline, and be worthy of being the core leader of the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son province to successfully implement the Congress Resolution.

The Congress elected a delegation of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee to attend the 14th National Party Congress, including 19 comrades and 2 alternate comrades.

The above results ensure quantity, standards and structure, with the ability to actively and qualitatively contribute to the contents of the Congress, contributing to the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Also at the Congress, many responsible, dedicated, democratic and unanimous opinions were discussed. From there, the Congress approved the Political Report and the Review Report on the leadership and direction of the 17th Provincial Party Executive Committee, term 2020-2025.

The Congress also passed the Resolution for the 2025-2030 term with high consensus and unity, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, determination and firm belief of the entire Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son province.

Entering the 2025-2030 term, the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee determined the goal of striving to build the province into one of the growth poles of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region by 2030, and become a fairly developed province by 2035.

The Congress document clearly stated 34 targets, 6 key tasks, 3 breakthroughs, 7 tasks, and main solutions. In particular, the province strives for GRDP to reach about 111,100 billion VND by 2030, with an average growth rate of 10-11%/year. GRDP per capita reaches about 130 million VND, equivalent to about 5,000 USD/person/year.

By 2030, the proportion of digital economy in GRDP will reach over 30%. Average life expectancy from birth will be about 73.5-74 years old. Human Development Index (HDI) will reach about 0.7-0.75. The rate of party members and grassroots party organizations that are assessed and classified as having completed their tasks well or better will reach over 90% annually. New party members admitted annually will reach over 2,000 members...

The Congress was honored to welcome Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, who attended and directed on behalf of the Politburo.

Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai suggested that the province focus on restructuring the agricultural sector, associated with new rural construction and effective management, exploitation and use of resources, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change; develop modern industry, making industry a driving force for growth and general economic development of the province; pay attention to promoting new driving forces of digital economy, green economy, circular economy, creating more room and driving force for sustainable development in the long term.
