Model congresses of Youth Union at the grassroots level in delta clusters, cities, towns and coastal districts

On the afternoon of April 12, in Sam Son City, the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) of Sam Son City organized the 6th Congress of the Youth Union, term 2024-2029. This is the first congress at the district, town and city levels selected by the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Thanh Hoa Province to organize.

Sam Son City has 33,024 young people, accounting for nearly 30% of the population. The number of young people gathered in the association is 12,960 people, the rate of solidarity and gathering of young people is 80.5%. In general, in recent years, members and young people have always been dynamic, creative, positive, proactive in finding jobs, applying scientific and technical advances to livestock and crop development; enthusiastically participating in programs and youth volunteer movements, thereby contributing to promoting local socio -economic development.

Along with that, the City Youth Union has also organized and participated in many volunteer activities at the city and provincial levels with a large scale and creative methods, bringing about effective results in attracting and gathering young people and linking them with the interests of young people. The basic targets during the term of the congress have all been achieved and exceeded.

In the 2024-2029 term, with the slogan of action "Solidarity, courage, aspiration, integration", the City Youth Union continues to closely follow the Resolution of the City Party Congress and the superior association, promote the spirit of vanguard, boost emulation movements, participate in contributing to building a smart, modern, attractive and friendly city.

At the same time, innovate the content and methods of education of the association, consolidate and improve the quality of activities through diversifying forms of youth gathering. Pay attention to strengthening political and ideological education for members and youth.

Promote the pioneering and voluntary role of youth in participating in local socio-economic development associated with effectively implementing movements and campaigns; actively participate in building strong unions and associations.

After serious and urgent working sessions, the congress consulted to elect 29 members to the Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of Sam Son City, term VI, 2024-2029; consulted to elect the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of the city, term VI. Mr. Du Thanh Hoang Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union of Sam Son City, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Sam Son City. The congress also consulted to elect a delegation to attend the higher-level congress, including 8 delegates and 1 alternate delegate.

The success of the model Congress in Sam Son City has created a premise for the Secretariat of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to direct all levels of the union to continue implementing the Plan to organize Congresses of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels, towards the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Thanh Hoa province, term 2024-2029.
