Vietnamese students achieved high results at the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad with 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.

At the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad that just ended in Indonesia, the Vietnamese student team excellently won 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.
Gold medals went to: Nguyen Trong Vi (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang), Nguyen Tran Thu Uyen (Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ninh Binh), Ngo Quang Hung ( Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi).
Silver medals went to: Dinh Minh Duc (Specialized High School, Hanoi National University of Education), Hoang Minh (Nguyen Hue Specialized High School, Hanoi).
The Bronze Medal went to Do Gia Bao (Hong Bang Secondary School, Hai Phong ). Do Gia Bao was the youngest student, only in 8th grade, to compete and win a medal.
The International Applied Chemistry Olympiad (IAChO) is held annually by the Indonesian Science Association to enhance students' abilities in the field of science, especially Chemistry, while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through highly applicable academic challenges.
The contestants had an enjoyable time in Indonesia.
Students participating in the competition will be tested on their skills and ingenuity in solving Chemistry problems, which can foster positive attitudes, especially in critical thinking and scientific thinking through the challenges of solving Chemistry problems.
In 2025, the final round of the International Chemistry Olympiad will take place in Bandung, Indonesia from September 25 to September 29. After 2 qualifying rounds, the Vietnam Physics Association has selected the 5 best students to participate in the final round.
Here, candidates participate in 2 parts of the exam. Part 1, candidates take a test including questions about the field of Chemistry. Part 2, candidates present a presentation to a panel of judges to test their communication skills, creativity and scientific knowledge.
According to the head of the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, a lecturer at Hanoi University of Electricity, after 4 days in Indonesia, Vietnamese students had the opportunity to experience and get to know many talented students from other countries around the world. The exchange and learning helped them gain more practical knowledge as well as life skills.
