Belgian Ambassador explores cooperation opportunities to develop Da Nang Free Trade Zone

DNO - On the afternoon of August 25, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Vietnam, Mr. Karl Van den Bossche, who was on a visit and working trip to Da Nang.

At the reception, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh informed Mr. Karl Van den Bossche about the economic and social development situation and development orientation of Da Nang city in the new period after the merger.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and its Belgian partners. Currently, there are 2 Belgian FDI projects registered for investment in Da Nang City with a total investment capital of about 40,000 USD.

The leaders of Da Nang city wish to continue promoting extensive cooperation with Belgian partners in the fields of logistics, seaports, urban areas, high technology, innovation, tourism , culture and promoting cooperation on free trade zones..., especially cooperation with the Flanders region.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh also said that relevant departments and branches will continue to work and discuss with the Belgian Embassy delegation about the strengths and development orientation of Da Nang city.

Ambassador Karl Van den Bossche expressed his impression with the development achievements that Da Nang city has achieved in recent times.
The Ambassador also informed that the Kingdom of Belgium in general and the Flanders region in particular are among Vietnam's major trade and investment partners in the European Union.

During the working visit to Da Nang city, the delegation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Vietnam will learn and discuss the possibility of cooperation in developing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and other areas where both sides have strengths and potential.
