Dak Glong honors exemplary elderly people

Over the past 5 years, the elderly in Dak Glong district have promoted the role of "Old age - Bright example", actively contributing to socio -economic development activities and building national solidarity.

The whole district has more than 4,300 elderly members; of which 133 elderly directly participate in taking on positions at the grassroots level. In addition, 26% of elderly participate in production and business labor. Every year, 62% of elderly families meet the new cultural family criteria and the title of "Exemplary grandparents and parents, filial children"; sports families, studious families.

The Association maintains 8 poetry, gong, arts and sports clubs with 365 members, contributing to preserving and promoting national cultural identity.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dak Glong district awarded certificates of merit to 18 outstanding individuals in the movement to build the grassroots political system in the period of 2019 - 2024.

In the movement to protect national security and maintain security and order, the association at all levels has successfully mediated 116 cases in villages and hamlets. The association actively participates in political and social activities. Members have proactively studied and thoroughly grasped the Party and State's guidelines and policies.

Through meetings with voters and elections, the elderly delegates contributed many sincere and frank opinions, honestly reflecting the aspirations of the people. Thereby, they made an important contribution to social supervision and criticism, urging authorities at all levels to promptly resolve pressing issues, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety.

With many achievements, over the past 5 years, the Dak Glong District Elderly Association has had 4 groups awarded certificates of merit by the Central Association and many other groups and individuals awarded at the provincial and district levels.
