During the 2020-2025 term, the issue of ensuring social security (SS) has always been prioritized by Party committees, authorities and the political system from the province to the grassroots, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Join hands to implement social security policy

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province Nguyen Tan Phu said: Closely following the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have mobilized social resources to, together with the state budget, support and help poor households, near-poor households, people in difficult circumstances... to help them have more opportunities to escape poverty and overcome difficulties.

Accordingly, to have resources, every year, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Standing Committee of the Provincial Fund for the Poor Mobilization Committee, has plans and documents to guide the local Fatherland Fronts to deploy plans to mobilize and develop the Fund for the Poor and focus on building great solidarity houses and implementing social security programs associated with the implementation of the Campaign for the Whole People to unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas; the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program; the Emulation Movement for the Poor - leaving no one behind, eliminating temporary houses and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

At the same time, the Fatherland Front at all levels has promoted propaganda work by coordinating with press agencies to develop columns and reports on poverty reduction, building solidarity houses, especially typical households that have overcome poverty thanks to the help of the Campaign for the Poor. At the same time, during the peak months for the poor, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations have organized many activities to honor and commend collectives and individuals who actively responded to the campaign... Thereby, promoting the participation of organizations and individuals in responding to the Campaign for the Poor.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Tan Phu, in addition to the core role of the Fatherland Front at all levels, member organizations such as the Provincial Labor Federation, Provincial Women's Union, Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Veterans Association, Provincial Red Cross, Provincial Farmers' Association... all have specific and practical activities contributing to the implementation of social security policies.

To ensure social security and leave no one behind, in addition to State resources, it is necessary to continue mobilizing social resources to care for the poor and the disadvantaged; and build models of mutual assistance in the community. For ethnic minority areas, border areas, and difficult areas, in addition to support solutions, it is necessary to propagate, mobilize, and create conditions for people to promote their internal strength, strive to develop the economy, and stabilize their lives.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Phu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province

Dong Nai is an industrial "capital", with a large number of workers, and the work of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers is always focused on by all levels of the Trade Union. On the occasion of Tet, Workers' Month, and the founding day of the Vietnam Trade Union, all levels of the Trade Union from the provincial to the grassroots always have practical activities to support union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances. The Trade Union Meal model has been maintained for many years, not only providing delicious meals for union members and workers, but also creating a connection between the Trade Union organization and union members and workers... With many models and activities for union members and workers, every year, the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation is highly appreciated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Ms. Bui Thi Hanh, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, Head of the Provincial Women's Affairs Committee, said: During the past term, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has implemented many programs, movements, and models to support women and children in difficult circumstances. Including the Godmother Program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in October 2021. By mobilizing and connecting groups and individuals to regularly sponsor orphans due to Covid-19, the Godmother Program is considered humane and has received support from many officials, members, women, and the community. Up to now, more than 1,100 orphans and children in difficult circumstances (including 100% of orphans due to Covid-19) have been sponsored. They are not only supported materially but also cared for and cared for spiritually, helping them have a solid foundation in their journey to adulthood.

Along with the Godmother Program, the Women's Union at all levels also mobilized hundreds of billions of VND to build and repair nearly 300 charity homes, award thousands of scholarships, health insurance cards and livelihood models. Implementing the Program Accompanying Women in Border Areas, the Women's Union mobilized to build shelters, toilets, and award livelihoods and scholarships to women and children in disadvantaged communes in and outside the province.

In the province's communes and wards, the work of ensuring social security and not leaving anyone behind is being carried out with attention.

Nguyen Hieu Trung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Song Ray Commune, said: The implementation of social security policies has been focused on by the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of the commune.

During the past term, Song Ray commune has focused on mobilizing the Gratitude Fund, effectively implementing poverty reduction work in conjunction with the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas. At the same time, drastic implementation of policies on social insurance and health insurance has resulted in an increasing number of people participating in social insurance and health insurance. In addition to caring for the disadvantaged, the commune also pays special attention to vocational training and job creation for rural workers... Thereby, gradually improving people's lives, creating opportunities for poor households, disadvantaged households, and disadvantaged people to rise up.

No one is left behind

Thanks to social security policies, people's lives have gradually improved. For poor and disadvantaged households in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, border areas, etc., social security policies are considered a fulcrum for them to rise up in life.

About 2 months ago, with the spirit of "mutual love and support", "The rich help the poor", the Women's Union of Phu Nghia commune (Dong Nai province) visited, encouraged and gave support of 3.5 million VND and 10 kg of rice to Ms. Thi Phuong and her children in Thac Dai village, Phu Nghia commune. In difficult times, receiving the attention and support of the Women's Union of the commune, Ms. Phuong could not hold back her emotions.

“I don’t know what to say other than thank you. Thank you to the Women’s Union, thank you to the women who have helped me and my children during this difficult time. I feel comforted and motivated to try to overcome this difficult period,” Ms. Thi Phuong confided.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Phu Nghia Commune Nham Thi Men said: Ms. Thi Phuong and her children are facing many difficulties. Her husband has passed away, and she is raising her children alone who are in school age. Her job is unstable. Not long ago, she had a traffic accident and could not go to work. Faced with her difficulties, the Women's Union of the commune has mobilized support in the hope of sharing some of the difficulties with her and her children. "Not stopping at Ms. Phuong's case, in the coming time, we hope to be able to accompany many members in difficult circumstances, not leaving anyone behind" - Ms. Men expressed.

Housing is one of the basic and essential needs of every household, especially poor households in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. At the same time, the movement to build houses for cadres and youth union members in difficult circumstances also contributes to the Movement to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the province. Therefore, in recent times, the Provincial Youth Union and the Youth Union from the province to the grassroots have mobilized to build new or repair houses for poor households in rural areas, areas heavily affected by natural disasters, poor households in ethnic minority areas, helping them have a place to "settle down and make a living".

Right on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day (August 19), Mr. Vo Van Muoi's family (in Hamlet 2, Dai Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai Province) was excited to officially live in a new, solid house, ending the long days of living in a dilapidated temporary house.

Mr. Muoi's family is one of the households in difficult circumstances, the house has been degraded for a long time but there are no conditions to repair or rebuild. Since June 2025, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union have coordinated with the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (Provincial Police) to start construction of the October 15 House with an area of 50 square meters with a total cost of 150 million VND. In addition to the funding supported by the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, to complete this project, there is also the participation and contribution of local authorities, organizations, union members and youth in supervising and providing technical support so that the project is completed on schedule and ensures quality.

The new school year 2025-2026 has just begun. This is an opportunity for all levels, sectors, organizations and individuals to pay attention to students, especially orphans, disabled students, children of poor households, families with difficult circumstances... to support them to go to school.

This year, Nguyen Le Phi Yen (residing in Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) is entering her first year at Dong Nai University, so her tuition fees have increased significantly. Five years ago, her mother passed away due to Covid-19. Her father is a street vendor with an irregular job. Knowing Yen's difficult circumstances, the Provincial Women's Union has just awarded 5 million VND from the support fund of Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company to children orphaned by Covid-19, helping Yen feel secure in enrolling in school.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, from the Fund for the Poor in 2025, the Fatherland Front at all levels has built 1,334 houses, worth over 111 billion VND for policy families, meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in the province; supported provinces in the northern mountainous region, ethnic minority areas; gave gifts to policy families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances; awarded scholarships to poor but studious students...

It can be said that the work of social security and job creation from 2020 to now has been carried out synchronously and effectively. Activities to care for people with meritorious services and social protection have received attention. The National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction has been effectively implemented; ensuring that the poor have access to and enjoy basic social services. Up to now, Dong Nai province has completed the Target Program on Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses. The State's support policy for workers has received attention, creating an environment to attract high-quality workers from outside the province to work and live.

In addition, the health insurance coverage rate in the province reached 95%. Investment and upgrading of clean water projects and works were focused on. At the same time, the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas was effectively implemented, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of people in remote, isolated and border areas.
