Offering incense and flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of National Day September 2 in France

On September 1, in a solemn and proud atmosphere, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Museum of Living History in Montreuil city solemnly held a flower offering ceremony before the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Montreau park, Montreuil city, a suburb of Paris, France.

The event is part of a series of activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in France to join the national atmosphere celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

Attending the incense offering ceremony before the statue of Uncle Ho were Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang and his wife; Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO Nguyen Thi Van Anh; Ms. Sabine Pesier, Secretary of the Association of Living History Museums; and many officials, diplomatic staff and representative agencies of Vietnam in France.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang emphasized the great significance of September 2, 1945 at the historic Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

France holds many memories of President Ho Chi Minh. Each of his actions is a beautiful memory in the hearts of international friends. The good feelings of the French people and the international community for him and the Vietnamese people are forever priceless assets.

The flower offering ceremony before the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Montreau Park was filled with the pride of every Vietnamese diplomatic officer and representative agency on duty in France.

Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang also reviewed the glorious historical journeys and great achievements of the country, from the resistance wars to save and defend the country to the process of reconstruction, development and international integration.

The Ambassador expressed his pride in the increasingly powerful image of Vietnam and the country's increasingly elevated position. He also affirmed that these achievements were partly contributed by Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, including in France.

The ceremony was also an opportunity for all Vietnamese diplomatic staff and representative agencies in France to express their determination to continue fulfilling their duties in the locality, contributing to the country's foreign affairs.

On this occasion, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang also expressed his deep gratitude to the people and government of Montreuil city, the leadership and staff of the Living History Museum for their warm feelings, solidarity and joint efforts in preserving the relics and statue of the great leader of Vietnam in Montreau park.

The cooperation and valuable support of the government and people of Montreuil city further contribute to strengthening the close relationship, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and France built over many decades.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the announcement of the design of the special edition stamp jointly issued by the Vietnamese Embassy and the French Post Office to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang solemnly presented the stamp to Ms. Sabine Pesier, Secretary of the Living History Museum Association.

After the solemn ceremonies, officials, diplomatic staff and Vietnamese representative agencies in France, along with their families and relatives, took souvenir photos, recording the meaningful moments of the ceremony.

It has been 6 years since the first day he came to France, Mr. Bui Huu The Anh (25 years old), who is living and working in France, has stopped by Montreau Park to offer flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh at Montreau Park every National Day, September 2.

In front of the portrait of the President, Mr. The Anh shared: The peace that the country has today is not an easy thing. The prestige, position and voice of Vietnam in the international arena are all built from the sacrifices of President Ho Chi Minh and generations of fathers and brothers.

Therefore, each person, especially the youth, needs to be grateful and responsible to the Fatherland, constantly strive and try to devote themselves to the cause of building and protecting the country.

Previously, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang offered incense in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the altar of Uncle Ho in the Embassy headquarters in Paris.

The incense and flower offering ceremony shows the deep gratitude of every Vietnamese person for the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and national heroes, and at the same time affirms the strong friendship between Vietnam and France in general, and between Vietnam and Montreuil city in particular.
