Offering incense to commemorate the gods worshiped at the Ha Temple

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of July 18, at the Ha Temple relic, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ham Rong Ward held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the merits of the god Dong Thuong Tran Hien Linh Ung Dai Vuong and the deities worshiped at the temple.

Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of Ham Rong ward and a large number of people and Buddhists attended the ceremony.

Chairman of Ham Rong Ward People's Committee Pham Duc Toan spoke at the ceremony.

Ha Temple used to belong to Duong Xa village (old Thieu Duong ward), where the god Dong Thuong Tran Hien Linh Ung Dai Vuong was worshiped.

According to legend, Duong Xa village had a towering mountain on the river bank, with lush trees and a picturesque landscape. Around the Vinh Tri year (1676-1680) of the Le Hi Tong dynasty, there was a great flood, the floodwaters rose high, a god's tablet floated from the source to the top of the mountain and stopped. The people thought it was supernatural, so they brought the god's tablet to the river bank and built a temple to worship it.

Currently, at the Ha Temple, people worship two gods, Do Bac Trinh Phu Ton Than and Quy Minh Ton Than, and hold incense offering and worship ceremonies on the 24th day of the 6th lunar month every year. The local government always pays attention to preserving, protecting, restoring and embellishing the relics, meeting the religious needs of the people.

At the ceremony, the sacrificial team performed rituals to express gratitude to the merits of the god Dong Thuong Tran Hien Linh Ung Dai Vuong and the deities worshiped at the temple with the wishes for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, good crops, peace, prosperity, happiness, and a strong and developed country.

The incense offering ceremony to express gratitude to the merits of the god Dong Thuong Tran Hien Linh Ung Dai Vuong and the deities worshiped at Ha temple aims to educate the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", arouse national pride; at the same time, maintain and enhance traditional cultural values, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the locality.
