Defeating Nam Dinh Blue Steel in extra time, Hanoi Police won the 2025 National Super Cup

On the evening of August 9, Hanoi Police Club defeated Nam Dinh Blue Steel Club at Thien Truong Stadium, thereby winning the National Super Cup - Thaco Cup 2024-2025.

The match between Nam Dinh Blue Steel and Hanoi Police was dramatic and exciting until the last minutes. Right from the 2nd minute, Ly Cong Hoang Anh of Nam Dinh had a shot from a narrow angle but could not beat goalkeeper Filip Nguyen.

It was not until the 38th minute that Hanoi Police broke the deadlock thanks to a classy move by Alan, when the Brazilian striker dribbled past both Duc Huy and goalkeeper Nguyen Manh before finishing into an empty net. The first half ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of Hanoi Police.

In the second half, Nam Dinh made a notable change when they sent 2m06 tall striker Kyle Hudlin onto the field. This change immediately took effect. In the 54th minute, Kyle Hudlin scored for Nam Dinh with an extremely impressive aerial performance, leveling the score at 1-1.

The match became more exciting than ever in the extra minutes. In the 90+3 minute, Alan continued to show his brilliance when he dribbled past 3-4 Nam Dinh defenders and curled the ball neatly, raising the score to 2-1 for Hanoi Police.

Just 3 minutes later, Dinh Bac had a lightning counter-attack and confidently finished, defeating goalkeeper Nguyen Manh, raising the score to 3-1. Nam Dinh tried to reduce the score to 2-3 in the 90+10 minute, when Kyle Hudlin scored from the 11m mark after a foul by Hugo Gomes, but it was not enough. The match ended with a thrilling 3-2 victory for Hanoi Police.
