Evaluating the strength of German opponents compared to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team

(Dan Tri) - The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will face the German women's team at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon (August 25) at the 2025 World Championship. This is a very strong team compared to the Vietnamese women's team.

The German women's team is currently ranked 11th in the world . This team's ranking is not as high as the Polish team (ranked 3rd in the world), the first opponent of the Vietnamese women's team. However, compared to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team (ranked 22nd in the world), the German women's team is still much stronger.

Of the 14 athletes on the German team roster for this year's world championship, 11 are playing abroad, including 6 who are playing for clubs in Italy, the world's leading volleyball team.

Notable faces of the German women's volleyball team include captain Camilla Weitzel, who plays for Scandicci Club (Italy), the current Champions League runner-up.

In addition, the German women's team also has two very good hitters, Lina Alsmeier and Emilia Weske, each of whom scored 13 points in the match against Kenya on August 23.

In the match against Kenya, the German women's volleyball team only had a few difficulties in the first half. In the first half, Germany narrowly beat Kenya 25-22.

Then, in the next two sets, the women's volleyball team from Europe won quite quickly, with scores of 25-8 and 25-20. In the end, the German women's team won 3-0 (25-22, 25-8 and 25-20).

Before the match with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, coach Bregoli of the German team confidently said: "We want to win our first two matches in the group stage this year (against Kenya and the Vietnamese women's team). However, the matches will not be easy."

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team and the German women's team will compete for second place in Group G (the top spot will likely belong to Poland), thereby aiming for a ticket to the knockout round.
