On September 27, a representative of the Thu Duc Regional Medical Center (HCMC) informed Dan Tri reporter of the initial investigation results in the case of many people in an apartment building in HCMC who went to the emergency room after eating bread.

Accordingly, after receiving the information, Thu Duc Regional Medical Center coordinated with local authorities to work with relevant parties.

Thereby, the authorities recorded that from September 22 to September 26, 65 students at all 3 levels at V. School (Long Binh Ward) showed unusual symptoms such as stomachache, vomiting, diarrhea... and had to stay home from school.

The common point of these children is that they ate bread sold around their residential area (apartment) and school. Among them, 8 children were admitted to several hospitals for treatment, diagnosed with gastrointestinal infections. In addition to the students, some parents also showed symptoms of suspected food poisoning.

According to the leader of Thu Duc Regional Medical Center, because the incident started on September 22, taking samples of suspected food is almost worthless. Currently, the incident has been reported to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety. The authorities continue to monitor and urgently carry out investigation measures.

“Students have been showing unusual symptoms for several days. Yesterday afternoon (September 26), we went to work at the school, checked the kitchen, food, and processing procedures. Everything was recorded,” the source said.

"When I went to the hospital, the doctor said that many people were hospitalized in the same condition as my wife and children. I suspected that the cause was from eating bread. After the incident, I reported it to the local authorities," said Tran Dang Anh Tuan (born in 1998, residing in Long Binh ward).

At Le Van Viet Hospital, 3 children related to the above incident were admitted with fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, lethargy, fatigue... and were diagnosed with intestinal infections caused by bacteria. After intensive treatment, the health of the children has stabilized.
