Pu Nhi commune union members repaired the local martyr cemetery.

I still remember, in the last days of July under the hot sun, Ham Rong Martyrs Cemetery was always bustling with people coming to offer incense and pay their respects. This is the resting place of more than 2,000 Thanh Hoa martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against France and the US and Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives while performing international duties in Laos. Before the heroic martyrs, Thanh Hoa youth offered flowers, incense, lit candles to pay their respects, and expressed their respect and infinite gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs for the cause of national liberation, national unification, and for the happiness of the people.

Along with the candle lighting activity, in July, in localities in the province, all levels of the Youth Union mobilized thousands of union members and young volunteers to participate in beautifying the environment of the martyrs' cemetery, and whitewashing thousands of martyrs' graves. Organized extensive propaganda and education activities for union members and young people about the tradition of "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember its source" associated with the history of the nation's traditional struggle to build and defend the country; 100% of grassroots union organizations in the whole province organized activities to honor policy families. Notably, in Xuan Lap commune, the commune union mobilized more than 500 union members and young people to clean up the environment in the commune's martyrs' cemetery. In Nghi Son ward, the atmosphere at the small house of Mrs. Tran Thi Hua, born in 1944 (wife of martyr Nguyen Van Rau) became warmer and more bustling when union members and young people came to visit and encourage. Despite her old age, she is still healthy and full of enthusiasm to "pass on the torch" to today's young people to follow in her footsteps.

Immediately after the administrative unit merger, the Youth Union at all levels deployed youth volunteer teams to actively support the local authorities and people, contributing to helping the new administrative apparatus operate smoothly and effectively. Accordingly, in Xuan Hoa commune, in the early mornings of July, the commune's public administrative service center is often full of seats because many people come to register for procedures to receive social pension benefits after Decree 176/2025/ND-CP dated June 30, 2025 detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Social Insurance on social pension benefits takes effect from July 1, 2025. According to the promulgated regulations, people aged 75 and over without pensions are entitled to receive social pension benefits from July 1, 2025 with a benefit level of VND 500,000/month. To support the people, the youth union members of Tho Xuan commune guided people through paperwork procedures; downloaded electronic applications and digital platforms; and helped people fill in personal information on declaration forms.

Secretary of the Xuan Hoa Commune Party Committee Trinh Ngoc Giang said: “In recent days, the working atmosphere at the commune administrative service center has always been urgent and serious. With the innovation of the new government apparatus, many people are very excited, especially the elderly, because they have received active support from the volunteer team. Through that, the time to process administrative procedures for the people and the government has also been shortened.”

According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, the summer youth volunteer campaign is a regular activity of the youth of the whole country in general and Thanh Hoa youth in particular. In the summer of 2025, the campaign will continue to be deployed according to target groups, taking place from the end of May to August. According to statistics of the Provincial Youth Union, by July 2025, responding to and launching the campaign, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have deployed more than 1,300 youth projects and tasks. Volunteer work to participate in the New Rural Development has been effectively implemented. Volunteer work for social security and for the community has achieved positive results, notably mobilizing more than 1,300 young people to participate in blood donation; organizing consultation, free medical examination and distribution for nearly 1,300 people...

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Ngoc Anh emphasized: "The summer volunteer atmosphere has been leaving a strong mark of the Youth Union organization and its members and youth on the community. Through that, it has ignited the fire of enthusiasm and creativity of the youth, participating in building and defending the Fatherland. Along with the vibrant activities of the youth, the Party committees and authorities at all levels have also given special attention to the youth, proactively worked with the Youth Union, creating conditions for the youth force to be proactive and volunteer to participate in socio-economic development."
