About 25km from the center of Moc Chau tourist area, Suoi Bon (also known as Suoi Bon village, Van Ho commune, Son La province) is an emerging destination, attracting tourists thanks to its green landscape and quiet space.
This place is surrounded by a large valley, surrounded by mountains, purple myrtle hills and terraced fields.

Located at an altitude of 800–1,000m above sea level, Suoi Bon has a cool climate all year round. In summer, the temperature is only about 20–24°C, making it an ideal place to “escape the heat” and hunt for clouds.
Bon Stream is not too far from Hanoi , about 170km, equivalent to 3-4 hours by car, so it is convenient for tourists to come to "change the air" and "heal".

According to Mr. Quang Kien - a young tourist and photographer in Moc Chau - the ideal time to explore Suoi Bon is summer, from June to September.
At that time, the weather is dry and sunny, suitable for tourists to check-in and participate in activities in harmony with nature such as walking, picnicking, and trekking.
Especially in late summer and early autumn, the hills of sim flowers here bloom, covering the hillsides in purple, creating a romantic and unique scene.

Visitors should visit Suoi Bon early in the morning (6-8am) to watch the sunrise, or late in the afternoon (4-5pm) to admire the sunset.
“If you go for the day, you can stay in the center of Moc Chau and then early in the morning go to Suoi Bon, then bathe in the waterfall, watch the rice fields and visit the villages around Van Ho commune.
If you want to stay overnight, you can camp to hunt clouds the next morning or stay at a homestay in the village, experiencing the life of the locals with activities such as playing the flute, singing and dancing by the fire," Mr. Kien suggested.

Mr. Dang Doan Sang (from Quang Ninh) recounted that the first time he set foot in Suoi Bon, he was surprised by the green grass, pine forests, rocky mountains and small houses nestled next to rice fields.

According to him, the scenery here reminds me of many other famous tourist destinations such as Suoi Thau (old Ha Giang), Mu Cang Chai (old Yen Bai) or Ta Xua (Son La). "That day, the sky was sometimes blue and sunny, sometimes surrounded by clouds, it felt like I was lost in a fairyland", Mr. Sang shared.

According to the Quang Ninh man, the route to get here is quite convenient. From Moc Chau, tourists go back towards Van Ho for about 30km, through the S-shaped road to the intersection of National Highway 6 - Long Luong, then turn left, go another 3km to get there.
“Just search for the location 'Sim hill - Suoi Bon cloud hunting' on Google Maps. Park your car at the foot of the hill, walk up and you will see a whole green grassland,” Mr. Sang added.

Currently, Suoi Bon does not have any food or accommodation services, so visitors should prepare food, drinks and necessary items. This place is free to visit, but everyone needs to preserve the landscape, not litter or light fires indiscriminately.

If you have the opportunity to come to Suoi Bon, you can combine exploring nearby places such as Shan Tuyet tea hill, Tat Nang waterfall, Chieng Yen hot mineral spring...
This is also home to the Dao, Mong, Thai people, etc., offering the opportunity to learn about indigenous culture and enjoy unique cuisine.
