Plei Oi historical-cultural relic was ranked at national level by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ) according to Decision No. 281/QD-BT dated March 24, 1993, with an area of about 122 hectares, including two areas.
Area I includes the entire area of Chu Tao Yang mountain and Plei Oi village (grave area, Oi Y pond, residential area with 33 houses) and area II is adjacent to area I.

However, the above area is only shown in the ranking records. In reality, the boundaries of the areas are not clearly defined, causing difficulties in management and conservation.
On June 20, 2025, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued Decision No. 584/QD-UBND on adjusting the protection zone of the relic. Accordingly: Protection zone I has an area of 10.35 hectares (Chu Tao Yang mountain 6.78 hectares; Mr. Siu Luynh's house 1.37 hectares; Oi Y pond 1 hectare; tomb 0.55 hectares; water wharf 0.65 hectares). Protection zone II has an area of 23 hectares, surrounding area I and related items.

The announcement of the adjustment aims to preserve, embellish and promote the value of Plei Oi relic; raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the community; at the same time create a basis for tourism and cultural development orientation, contribute to stabilizing people's lives and building sustainable development of Chu A Thai commune.
At the conference, the People's Committee of Chu A Thai commune requested agencies, units, 23 villages in the area and the people of Plei Oi village to seriously implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws on management and preservation of cultural heritage; comply with the 2024 Law on Cultural Heritage and related regulations.

Restoration and restoration activities of relics must be based on scientific grounds, without arbitrarily changing the original architecture. At the same time, coordination in festival organization, fire prevention, and prevention of damage to relics must be strengthened.
The People's Committee of the commune also emphasized promoting the supervisory role of the community, stepping up propaganda and promoting the value of relics associated with developing tourism products.
The Department of Culture and Society is assigned to closely coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and handle violations; at the same time, encourage the cooperation of organizations and individuals in preserving and promoting the value of Plei Oi National Monument.
