Digital transformation opens up a new direction for Can Tho's healthcare sector

According to the Department of Health of Can Tho City, since the beginning of 2025, the Can Tho City Hospital Quality Management Council has used the Google Appsheet application to evaluate and score 80/83 criteria (according to Decision 6858/QD-BYT) and 43 sub-items according to the quality standards set (Circular 35/2024/TT-BYT).

Initially, Google Appsheet met 90% of the target and is still continuing to improve to establish a separate Hospital Quality Measurement Index for the Can Tho health sector.

In addition, from the beginning of September 2025 to now, Can Tho City has 22/58 hospitals announcing the implementation of electronic medical records, and it is expected that by September 30, there will be more remaining units and the announcement will reach 100% of medical units with hospital beds implementing electronic medical records.

Faced with the increasing demands of society, the Can Tho health sector is determined to strongly improve quality to provide more synchronous and substantial solutions to accelerate the development of specialized health care in the Mekong Delta region.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Hoang Quoc Cuong, Director of the Department of Health of Can Tho City, said that the workshop is an important forum for units, experts and hospitals to exchange experiences, share good models, orient the digital transformation roadmap, contributing to building a safe - quality - modern - integrated Can Tho health system, worthy of being a specialized medical center of the Mekong Delta.

Typical examples include the application of electronic medical records, smart management systems, interconnected data connections, etc., which not only help manage hospitals more effectively but also bring many benefits to the people.
