In addition to the impacts on the administrative structure and socio-economic development policies, the merger of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces has created conditions for tourism enterprises to build joint brands and develop sustainably. Thereby contributing to improving the competitive position of the locality on the national and international tourism map.

According to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ta Anh Tuan, after the merger, Dak Lak is a relatively large province with a border of over 71 km and a coastline of 189 km. Therefore, the development space of the province is extremely large. In particular, Dak Lak has conditions for developing a marine economy . In particular, developing tourism and services associated with forests, seas and cultural identity is also identified as one of the province's key economic sectors.

"Travel companies need to promptly grasp changes in administrative boundaries to adjust tours, routes, sightseeing programs and how to introduce destinations to suit the new administrative map" - Mr. , Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Province Tourism Association.

According to the assessment of the Dak Lak Tourism Association, after the merger, the East and West sides of the province will complement each other perfectly, creating a diverse and complete tourist itinerary. While the West is famous for its gong culture, vast space and unique traditional festivals, the East attracts tourists by the wild beauty of Ganh Da Dia, the peace of Xuan Dai Bay and the salty taste of the ocean. After the merger, tourists to Dak Lak can go to the beach to enjoy the golden sunshine and white sand, then move to the West to explore the indigenous culture and majestic nature. This is considered a golden opportunity for travel agencies to build continuous tours, connecting destinations from the highlands to the plains, from the mountains to the sea. Tourism products connecting East and West will certainly create great attraction.

In addition, the consolidation of administrative boundaries also creates conditions for tourism businesses to optimize resources. Travel, transportation, accommodation and service businesses can cooperate more closely, build closed supply chains, thereby improving service quality and reducing costs.

According to many tourism businesses, after the merger, the province will create conditions for traffic development through upgrading and investing in roads and railways, because traffic development will help shorten the travel time of tourists.

Taking advantage of the opportunities brought about by the merger as well as from the Party and State's policies on supporting businesses, recently many tourism businesses have taken steps to create leverage to connect tours and routes, build inter-regional products, improve service quality and promote the image of local tourism.

Mr. Le Trong Nam, Director of Ban Me Travel Investment - Trade and Tourism Services Co., Ltd., shared that in order to connect more destinations, the unit has connected and worked directly with partner businesses in the East to create diverse and highly competitive tourism products. From there, the company will guide tourists, especially local people, to choose to travel within the province instead of other regions.

In the context of the post-merger of the province, Mr. Le Van Duc, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Tourism Association, said: The tourism industry needs to be proactive and flexible to adapt. In particular, travel companies need to promptly grasp changes in administrative boundaries to adjust tours, routes, sightseeing programs and how to introduce destinations to suit the new administrative map. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the exploitation of tours to the East, unique features, new features and invest in improving the quality of products and services. More importantly, those participating in tourism activities need to join hands to maintain the beautiful image of tourist destinations and localities. Along with improving the quality of products and services, it is necessary to ensure factors of security, order, environment, price stability, and increase value so that the tourism industry can develop sustainably.

Along with the efforts of enterprises, localities with great tourism potential need to review and comprehensively re-evaluate the tourism resource system after the merger to restructure products, build or upgrade destinations. In addition, local authorities should also closely coordinate with enterprises in infrastructure planning, improve traffic connections, and promote the promotion of inter-regional tourism products newly formed after the merger. The cooperation between the state and enterprises will be the key to effectively exploiting tourism potential, contributing positively to economic growth and sustainable development of localities after the merger.
