Coming to Thac Ba Lake (Lao Cai province), visitors can not only go on boats to admire the beautiful river scenery, visit floating fish cages, but now they can also see, pick and enjoy sweet grapes.

In July 2023, together with a friend, Mr. Ta Huu Tinh started to renovate his family's island in Gay village, Yen Binh commune, Lao Cai province and boldly ordered nearly 3,000 grape trees (black grape and peony grape varieties) for experimental planting. After 2 years, the trees began to bear fruit, at this time there were scattered clusters of ripe grapes.

The grapevine will bear fruit twice a year in April and October.

Mr. Ta Huu Tinh shared: "I visited some places like Vinh Phuc , Dong Anh and saw that this grapevine was effective, so I brought it back to plant. After nearly 2 years, I found that this grapevine is suitable for the land, climate, soil and has fruit."

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Nga (tourist) shared: "I was very surprised that on Thac Ba Lake there is a beautiful and large milk grape garden. In about a month and a half, the vineyard will be ready for harvest, I really hope to come back to experience the grape ripening season."

Grape trees will produce fruit twice a year in April and October, each crop consists of several batches lasting about 2.5 months. On average, each bunch of grapes can reach from 700 grams to nearly 1 kg.
