On the afternoon of September 7, the Vietnam National Team had their second practice match in the September training session. This time, the opponent was CAHN, the team currently ranked second in LPBank V.League 2025/26 with 7 points after 3 opening matches.
Coach Kim Sang-sik is currently leading the Vietnam U23 team in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers in Phu Tho , and assistant Dinh Hong Vinh will continue to lead the Vietnam team. With the aim of testing and creating a connection between old and new players, the list of players called up this time includes many names such as Van Viet, Quan Van Chuan, defender Dang Van Toi, Tran Hoang Phuc, Dinh Quang Kiet, Phan Du Hoc, midfielder Minh Khoa, Ly Cong Hoang Anh and striker Pham Gia Hung.
In the practice match with Nam Dinh Blue Steel a few days ago, the Vietnam team lost 0-4 and coach Kim Sang-sik said that he probably had to do something with the players to improve the results. It seems that from Phu Tho, the Korean strategist gave the necessary instructions and the Vietnam team had a better performance on the field of the VFF Youth Football Training Center on the afternoon of September 7.

In the match against CAHN, assistant Dinh Hong Vinh continued to use experienced players such as Duy Manh, Thanh Chung, Tuan Hai, and Tien Linh as the main players. On the CAHN side, in contrast to the Blue Steel Nam Dinh, coach Mano Polking launched an all-domestic squad at the start of the match, including many players such as Quang Hai, Nguyen Filip, Dinh Trong, and Bui Hoang Viet Anh.
Vietnam opened the scoring early when two CAHN defenders made mistakes, giving Tien Linh a chance to break through, pass goalkeeper Nguyen Filip and score into an empty net. Not long after, Tuan Hai scored, doubling the gap. However, before the end of the first half, CAHN reduced the score when Quan Van Chuan, in a rare occasion being called up, missed the ball, allowing Duc Nam to score.
In the second half, assistant Dinh Hong Vinh replaced the entire team except Chau Ngoc Quang. With the relaxed mentality of a practice match and the desire to show themselves of the new elements, the Vietnam team created a jubilant score chase. Trieu Viet Hung was the one who raised the score to 3-1 but immediately after that, Van Toan reduced the gap to 4-3. Almost immediately, Van Vi helped to restore the two-goal gap. And it did not take long for CAHN to equalize, with Van Do's goal. The score of 4-3 was also the final result, concluding the meaningful practice match.
After this period, the Vietnam National Team will gather again in October, ready for the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers with the reception of Nepal on October 9 in Ho Chi Minh City, followed by the return match at Nepal's stadium on October 14.
