In Mong Cai parish, which is located in the border area, Catholics are also very active in responding to the activities of self-management of border lines and landmarks, maintaining political security, social order and safety. Mr. Do Van Binh, Head of Mong Cai parish, said: In each residential group and neighborhood of Tra Co, Xuan Ninh, Hai Yen parishes... there is a core mass force, actively participating in detecting and denouncing crimes, and promptly reconciling conflicts within the people. Members of the Executive Committee of Tra Co, Hai Yen parishes... all closely coordinate with the police force and border guards to build the "5 no" movement into the tradition of families, residential groups, and neighborhoods. That is: No theft, no gambling, no prostitution, no drug addiction, no drug trafficking. In recent years, many cases of smuggling, transporting banned goods, illegal fishing, illegal border crossings, and illegal entry of foreigners... have been detected, prevented, and strictly handled by the authorities with the support of the people.
Yen Tri Parish is the parish with the largest number of Catholics in Quang Ninh province, with nearly 10,000 parishioners divided into 7 parishes. Therefore, the patriotic emulation movements among Catholics here, especially the movement of All People Protecting National Security, have always made an important contribution to the local socio-economic development in recent times.
Mr. Peter Bui Van Tu, Head of Yen Tri Parish, said: The dignitaries and officials regularly meet and encourage parishioners to actively build and participate in self-management and reconciliation groups, contributing to maintaining neighborhood relationships and solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics. The performance of ceremonies is always associated with ensuring safety and social order, aiming to build a peaceful parish and a cultured family, without separating Catholic duties from civic duties.
At Hon Gai Parish, building a civilized lifestyle has become a competitive tradition across all parishes, associations, and organizations for many years. The tradition of "Respecting God, loving the country", "Living a good life, living a good religion" has motivated parishioners here to uphold the spirit of solidarity in law enforcement, building a safe, orderly, and civilized residential area. Self-management models of grassroots security, urban order, fire prevention and fighting... are effectively maintained; proactive awareness in the fight against denunciations and pushing back illegal acts is enhanced in the community. Through propaganda and guidance, each family maintains close contact with the local police, promoting a sense of responsibility to contribute to ensuring safety and social order in the place of residence. On weekly holidays or in catechism activities, priests, dignitaries, and officials often remind parishioners to build harmonious families, actively work and participate in charitable work... From there, a community of love and solidarity is built.
At the end of June 2025, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee of the province organized a Patriotic Emulation Congress, praising good people and good deeds in the period of 2020-2025. Here, many advanced models and examples of national security protection were also recorded, built, consolidated, and replicated, suitable to the characteristics of each residential area, parish, and church in the whole province. The sense of responsibility and determination of each individual has combined into a great strength, constantly consolidating the people's security posture to become more and more solid.
