Storms continue to cause many trees to fall in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of July 21, thunderstorms continued to sweep through many wards and communes of Ho Chi Minh City, causing many trees to fall and advertising signs to be "thrown" onto the streets.

Preliminary records show that many trees in Ba Ria, Vung Tau, Tam Thang wards... had broken branches, uprooted trees, and signboards were blown away by the wind; fortunately, there were no human casualties.

In Vung Tau and Tam Thang wards, about 10 trees had their branches broken, uprooted, and fell across the road, affecting traffic. In particular, a black star tree about 15m high on Le Hong Phong street was uprooted, fell across the road, and blocked one side of the road, breaking the water supply system.

Vung Tau Urban, Greenery and Park Development Joint Stock Company (UPC) has urgently mobilized workers and vehicles to the scene to handle and clear the congestion. Ba Ria - Vung Tau Water Supply Joint Stock Company has sent forces to the scene to repair the damaged water supply system.

In Ba Ria ward, Ngai Giao commune, on the afternoon of July 21, thunderstorms also broke many trees, causing traffic obstruction.

Thus, in two days (July 20 and 21), in some communes and wards of Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 100 trees were recorded with broken branches and uprooted roots.
