In Binh Ninh commune, one of the key coconut growing areas of Dong Thap province, raw dry coconuts are being purchased by traders at the garden at a price of 160,000 - 180,000 VND/dozen (12 fruits).

According to some traders, the price of dried coconut has remained high recently due to the strong increase in demand from export markets. At the same time, the domestic market also needs a large amount of dried coconut to serve the production and processing of cakes and candies for the Lunar New Year 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Van Met Sau in Binh Ninh commune, Dong Thap province has just harvested 0.7 hectares of dry coconuts with 760 fruits, sold for 170 thousand VND/dozen (12 fruits), earning a profit of more than 9 million VND.

Mr. Sau said that the price of raw coconut is currently stable, bringing high income to his family. In addition, many traders and companies from neighboring localities also come to visit and survey the quality of his coconut garden.

According to Mr. Sau, when the price of coconut is stable, farmers will have enough capital to invest in fertilizing and taking care of their gardens. This will lead to an increase in productivity in the following months.
