Meeting with Northern veterans who participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign: Paying tribute to historical witnesses

(HTV) - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the Southern Soldiers' Heart Club organized a meeting to pay tribute to Northern veterans who participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

Ho Chi Minh City successfully organized a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The Southern Soldiers' Heart Club organized a meeting and welcome program for the delegation of veterans from the North - those who directly participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

The program was attended by representatives of martyrs' families, families with meritorious services, wounded and sick soldiers, generals, officers, veterans, former people's police, former youth volunteers, and especially veterans - living witnesses of the April 30 victory from the Northern region.

50 years have passed, but the lessons from the victory in the spring of 1975 remain valuable: the strength of national unity, the indomitable will, and the desire for peace of the Vietnamese people. This is also an opportunity for present and future generations to look back on the past and appreciate more the sacrifices and contributions of our ancestors in the cause of national liberation.

With the spirit of “From heart to heart”, the Southern Soldiers’ Heart Club is not only a place for exchange and connection between veterans, but also a space to preserve war memories through activities of collecting documents and wartime memorabilia, as well as creating literary, artistic and journalistic works to spread the tradition of patriotism, indomitability and national pride.

Besides, the club also always promotes the spirit of social responsibility, cares for the lives of comrades, spreads humane and kind actions, contributing to beautifying the image of soldiers in peacetime.
