Garnacho causes trouble for Man Utd because of controversial actions with Onana

In the match against Copenhagen in the Champions League this midweek, goalkeeper Andre Onana was the hero for Man Utd when he successfully saved a penalty in the 7th minute of injury time, helping the Red Devils win 1-0.

After the match, many Man Utd players praised goalkeeper Onana on social media. However, Garnacho praised his teammate in a "unique" way. This player used a monkey image to caption a photo of Onana.

This was a rather sensitive move as Onana is a black player. Many fans thought that Garnacho had racially discriminated against the Cameroonian goalkeeper.

Garnacho immediately deleted his post. However, he still could not erase the traces. The English Football Association (FA) contacted the young Man Utd player and began investigating his behavior.

According to the British press, Garnacho is at risk of being suspended for "serious violations" of FA rules. In that situation, goalkeeper Onana had to speak up to defend his teammate.

The Man Utd goalkeeper said: "People can't think in a way that I feel offended. I understand what Garnacho is talking about. He wants to talk about power and strength. I think this issue is pushed too far."

Remember, in 2020, Cavani (when he was playing for Man Utd) was banned for 3 matches by the FA and fined 100,000 pounds after replying to a friend's public message on Instagram with the content "Gracias Negrito". In Spanish, Negrito refers to black people.

Although the Uruguayan striker later explained that he had no racist intentions, he still had to pay the price for his actions. Now, Garnacho must prove his innocence or he could face the same punishment as Cavani.
