Rice prices tend to decrease

Rice prices today, July 14, in the Mekong Delta region are stable for both paddy and rice. The rice market has steady supply and stable transactions.

The rice market in the Mekong Delta today generally has steady supply, stable transactions, and diverse quality, with a lot of bad rice and little good rice. Specifically, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice is steady supply, good quality, stable transactions, and stable warehouse prices. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), prices are stable, and transactions are moderate.

According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice prices are stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice is at 10,650 - 10,750 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice is at 12,450 - 12,550 VND/kg.

Similarly, there is no adjustment for by-products today compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 rice bran is at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry bran remains at 7,000 - 7,100 VND/kg.

Last week, rice prices fluctuated downwards at the beginning and middle of the week, remaining stable at the end of the week. In many localities, rice prices fluctuated little, transactions were moderate, and warehouse prices were stable.

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND20,000/kg; Jasmine rice is VND18,000 - VND20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice is VND20,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates around VND15,000 - VND16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is VND20,000 - VND21,000/kg; Huong jasmine rice is VND20,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is VND21,000/kg; common white rice is VND17,000/kg; regular Soc rice is VND18,500/kg; Thai Soc rice is VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice is VND22,000/kg.

Japanese rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 is priced at 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. 3-month sticky rice (dry) remained unchanged compared to the price from 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. In addition, 9,000 - 9,200 VND/kg is the selling price applied to Long An sticky rice (dry). On the other hand, 3-month sticky rice (fresh) was stable compared to yesterday at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg and Long An sticky rice (fresh) continued to be stable today.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice was stable at $470 per ton; 5% broken rice is currently at $567 per ton; and 25% broken rice is at $545 per ton.
